Very hard to sit at board meeting with this cherry prick in control

Roo had me shaking my head this morning on the radio.
They were talking footy and said Houston looked like he could be in doubt with a shoulder injury.
And straight away said if he was doubtful with an injury, he should rest and get it right before coming back into the team.
Obviously a different policy to what we normally see at the Crows

They have the depth to make unforced changes. We really don't.So Dogs made 3 unforced changes in addition to 2 forced changes despite being 5-0 and smashing their last opponent.
Just a really nice contrast to our stupid selection policy.
Yep, bring them in when they're in form and have built up match fitness. I'm sure we'll see a Pedlar debut very soon, but he needs a bit of time to build first. Cook will probably get a taste later in the year. Once they've got that taste and have shown signs - then you get them to 50 gamesYes... but you don't bring in kids who are struggling at SANFL level, and are miles off playing AFL, just for the sake of giving them experience. That does them more harm than good.
Players like Sholl, Schoenberg, Butts & Hamill - they're the ones we need to get to 50 games ASAP.

They have depth because they've been building a side for 5 years. We don't because we've started rebuilding and have cut all that depth we previously had. Do you think it's a good thing they brought in Jordon Sweet, let him debut, have him play well and then drop him after 1 career game? Lewis Young hasn't done a thing wrong and he gets dropped after 2 games. Lipinski plays well when selected but has now been dropped twice this year. Bevo makes changes for the sake of making changes, which is not something we should be doing with the majority of our players who are young and inexperienced. They have depth because they are prepared to get a look at it. We don't know if we have depth or not. Sholl debuted 4 rounds after Dmac returned last year and 1 round after Rat, Gibbs and Knight were given another crack. Had we not been destroyed by Roos in that game, how much longer would he have waited? You're suggesting we continue with the same mistakes as a solution to resolve our existing problem.

The important thing with guys like Sholl, Hamill, Schoenberg etc, we gave them a shot abd we backed them in from there. That is the important thing we do with the players we select and I have no doubt it's what we'll do when we select Worrell, Pedlar and Thilthorpe.
Hately is the most like for like with Lynch and can help bolster mid numbers as well as play a high forward roleThank you for taking the trouble to provide options. I wish our troll moderator would put the effort in that you have.
Option 1 - Worrell/Murray/McAsey
The problem here is that the team is already unbalanced, having previously replaced Sloane with Fogarty. It doesn't matter how much you shuffle the magnets, replacing a running player (Lynch) with a slow tall is just going to exacerbate the existing problem. I like the idea of playing Worrell or Murray, but not as a replacement (even indirectly) for Lynch.
Option 2 - Himmelberg
The problem with this is that it leaves our forward line massively top heavy, with Frampton/Walker/Berg/Fogarty (when he's not sucking the life out our midfield). I'm all for selecting Himmelberg this week, but as a straight swap for Frampton - not as an indirect replacement for Lynch.
Option 3 - Mackay
In reality, this is far & away our best option. OK, maybe not best - least worst. We swap one experienced running player for another. We don't screw up the midfield or forward line structures any worse than they already are. The melts, on the other hand, would be epic.
Yes, there are 5 or 6 players who could come in - but Mackay is the only one we can bring in who is ready to go, in reasonable form, and wouldn't completely screw up our team structure.
Himmelberg is a better player all round including ruck than Frampton if he has his competitive fibres switched on which I think he might do after last weekI see as much of Adelaide playing as Port so I've seen a bit. He rucked quite well in the game against Hawthorn at Adelaide Oval when O'Brien was spent. He doesn't get much of a run in the ruck and if you see the other post I just wrote I said that Frampton has more experience than Himmler as a ruck and because Walker is kicking goals that has hurt Himmler's prospects of a game.
Unless in a Chinese Takeaway...then they’re called “dumplings”They're called "fast food workers" nowadays. Not "underlings".

Yes it gets dark early down here this time of year ... but we have no issue with electricity, pure hydro for us my friend.
I for one am happy about the early game as the drive back to Hobart will be not too late, less wallabies to deal with![]()
PS - got my tickets, glad I didn't hesitate when they opened up - only 159 tickets left!

it’s a no brainer that Himmelberg comes in for Frampton given he had a good game in Sanfl and Frampton .... well
the only 2 changes I’d make other than possibly resting Berry but you’d prob only do that If Chayce was doing more
I’d be happy to rest Berry for Newchurch though
the sub- probably Mackay but although people will say it’s a bad way to debut wouldn’t mind seeing Pedlar take the role given he’s likely not match fit for 4 quarters but might give him a taste for where he needs to get to if he gets on
They got Briggs, but aren't using him as a sole ruckman I don't think. Then Flynn is back in the AFL side this week and I think Mummy is an emergency.Footscray vs. GWS VFL(LOL) match on Foxtel now, for those interested. Jesse Hogan looks fat and unfit in the first quarter, No.1 draft pick has done nothing (and looks a bit entitled). GWS don't seem to have a ruckman.

How about Blighty? Came in with a big broom, dropped McGuiness and McDermott, got DJarman, played blokes all over the place, backed in kids like Goodwin and Kane Johnson; shook up the whole Club. When he was appointed my best mate (ex-Kiwi) asked me about him. I said he'd take us to a Flag in 2 years, at most 3. How wrong could I be?Leigh Matthews is the one that said players make the coach. Says it in interviews quite often. He also says coaches are overrated and given too much credit when they win and too much focus when they lose. Totally agree. Clarko had a team full of champions, same with the Lions. A good coach is the icing on the cake to take them to the top. In saying that a poor coach can cost you a flag. Thanks Pykey. Clarkson is currently finding out that when you have a sh*t cake it doesn't matter how good the coach is. Of course he knows that but he's getting the most out of a bad team.
