Now let’s have a look at our last matches to get an indication as to the accuracy or otherwise of that statement….

Step 1

You lose to a Mason Cox inspired Collingwood on your shores by a solitary. Adjust for HGA it is like losing by about 12. Further adjust for reduced time matches in 2020, 15 point loss i think we can agree on there.

Step 2

The aforementioned Magpies then took on the Geelong Cats FC on neutral terrain and lost by 68 points. Adjust for Covid times that is like an 85 point win in a full match, putting the Cats around 100 points ahead of the hapless Eagles.

Step 3

Same Cats play the object of your obvious envy, the Tigers and lose by 31. Adjusted for COVID time reductions like a 39 point win.


So this puts the Tigers roughly 139 points ahead of the Eagles on current form, but in Happy Buddha land that means the Eagles are better at football than the Tigers.
