Should be done for 43 or a future third within 5 minutes of trade week opening.

43 is to high. He’s only played 11 games in 5 years and none in 2023.

Token pick territory really and F3 at best which should hopefully be 50+ anyway.

Either that or a meaningless pick 72 this year which we’ve seen before for these type of trades.

The reserve rucks behind a really good ruck often hold a bit of value despite games played. 43 feels fine, maybe with something small going back later or in the future

Wow Port Destination Club !

Don't know how they are going to be able to get all of BZT, Esava and Sweet across but they will certainly find a way
getting 3 players who all have little trade currency through the door should not be a challenge at all really

Try telling Geelong and essendon that esava and bzt have little trade value. They will want 1st rounders

Will be entertaining watching on as Port and Adrian Dodoro negotiate.

What did the Crows do, everyone seems to want to go to Port.
It’s two key defenders and a ruckman. Both weaknesses of Port that they’ve chosen to address.

In saying that, I can’t see Port playing all of Aliir, BZT & Esava in the same defense. I feel like two of those guys who versatile mediums in Bergman, Burton & Jones is more than enough height.

Posted this in the Zerk-Thatcher thread as well, but who says no?

Ess in: 37, 43, 71
Ess out: Zerk-Thatcher, 46

PA in: BZT, Sweet
PA out: 37, 43

WB in: 46
WB out: 71, Sweet

Essendon get their second and change
Port get both their players without giving away too much draft capital
Dogs get an extra ~300 points for Croft

No thanks we will just do Sweet for 43 ourselves

I doubt that. 43 is highly likely to be tied up in either the Ratugolea or Zerk-Thatcher trades. This trade you still get a big points upgrade, whereas if it's Port by themselves it's probably a F3 or F4.

Why would we also throw in 71 to get a late 40s pick? BZT won the reverse coleman for a reason he isn't that good

Yeah, that's because for the second half of the year our midfield was so open you could have sailed the Titanic between it. He can't take the monsters but he's an AFL standard second tall. He's worth more than 37 alone.

Also that's pretty much the standard rate for back up rucks. In fact most of the time it's a pick upgrade in the 50's or 60's. Looking at the past 4 trade periods

Darcy Cameron went with pick 62 for 56
Zac Smith went for 58
Andrew Phillips went with 61 and 72 for 57 and 70
Stefan Martin went with 70 for 63
Tom Hickey went with 34 and 60 for an F2, F3, 58 and 62 which was because Sydney needed Gulden and Campbell points
Darcy Fort went with 41 for pick 50 and a F3
Jonathan Ceglar went with an F3 for an F4
Max Lynch went with an F3 and F4 for 2x F3's
Billy Frampton went for a F3
Lloyd Meek went with a F2 for O'Meara and a F4

Can't be ****ed going further back but the precedent is pretty clear. This is an excellent deal for the Dogs.

How many of those listed were stuck behind the AA ruckman that year?

Have always liked this guy, think he will be a good get for Port who can play AFL footy next year, but he is not worth 43 on it’s own after 5 years of not doing a lot.

Lynch, Fort and Hickey were all behind AA rucks at their clubs, maybe not in those particular years, and I wouldn't be surprised if Darcy ended up being an AA ruck as well.

So none?

Preuss is the only one recently who went for pick 31 but he was contracted and wasn't dominating the 2's like Sweet is a pick in the 40's is more than fair
