The sun has come up, magical day here in the sunny NW of Tas.

Hopefully some posters have found their toys and placed them back in your cots.

This season is a discovery season we are finding out so much about our group, who will make it & who won’t.

So many positives to take out of yesterday but so many posters want to focus on the negatives. Our midfield is going to be hard to hold in another few seasons.

Lewis kicking 4 against arguably one of the best FB

Amon was outstanding

Worpel is a bull

Newk is an A grader

Sic was amazing apart from 1 brain fade, saved numerous forward thrusts but some posters forget all this and can only see one incident and post melts about this. 🤦‍♂️

Pick 3 is now ours, we win yesterday and I have no doubt we would have finished in front of Freo At seasons end.

Really looking forward to next season, we have so much depth at BH that is building nicely.

1 step forward 2 steps back this season, next season will be the opposite

this is actually a big deal, if we did overtake Freo it would prob put Melb in pole position for Harley as WC would know they could grab Curtin. As it stands we’re the threat to take him and which means they might deal with us. Melb also might be obsessed with Duursma who’s under their wing with Casey, so they might try trade up a spot to guarantee him. Losing yesterday wasn’t the worst thing to be fair.

Forget about Harley.

On the bright side this loss has made it a little harder for Essendon to make finals and have a chance at ending their streak.

Was it Seamus Mitchell who went back with the flight and got absolutely hammered in the third quarter? That was such an inspiring moment, shame we couldn't hang on as it would've featured prominently in the washup
It was. Commentators barely noticed.

We won the clearances 9-7. We just won’t able to get the ball deep inside 50 from them and the tigers killed us on the rebound once they got the ball in space.

Another couple of preseasons in the legs and we won’t tire as easily and we comfortably hold on if not pull away.

In the past when last quarters were fruitless, hawks would try something like a bigboy or hale grabbing some of those slow high balls. Our rucks aren’t up to that yet.

The best bit is we ar e now not only nor surprised when out midfield gets ascendancy for large parts of games, we are dissappointed when we lose from winnable positions.

Things are going well

Day takes the mark instead of going the punch we win pretty simple. Happy with the loss. We showed enough and still record the win, we can do that against a bigger scalp.

We score even one goal or 2 points from significant number of I50 in the last and we win

Just going to say again, if you score no goals in a quarter, don’t look to the defence to save the game. Hawks had plenty oi inside 50s in the last quarter
Anyone got the numbers for both teams last quarter
12-11 Richmond's way in the last quarter

Frost is the one that cost us. The ball was dead, he ripped it out from the bottom of the pack and turned it over by hand, Tigers immediately scored.

Couple of other observations:
  • Long just the 3 touches as sub. Their sub turned the game in the last with his run. Ours did nothing, along with DGB. We essentially a man down.
  • watch the Baker goal. There's a scrimmage in their F50 and ump was about to call a ball up. One of our leaders, Frost, decides to wrench it out of congestion and fumbles into Richmond hands. Kicks to a contest, Baker goal. The guy just has zero footy IQ.

Game of inches. And that costs you the game.
Matty Lloyd pointed this out from Collingwood's game last night, every time a scenario like this occurred, they would find
a way to hold it in, bottle it up without giving a free. Within the last 3 minutes he showed about 4 examples.
Leadership and experience, something that can't come quick enough for the Hawks.

Frost has the experience. 150 games.
Just zero game awareness/ footy smarts.
