Hello friends, and thanks for joining The People’s Champion for our first look at the Fighting Furies.
As most match threads with the Bombers and Furies commence, there is always a day or two of serious s**t
flinging
and a LOT of **** measuring, which in the Furies case, didn’t take long.
Personally, I really enjoy the Furies and their schtick, and they’ve added some great talent in the off-season.
Leading the charge in the match thread were two of their boom recruits from an off-season recruiting spree to strengthen their ranks, and strengthen them they did. Elton Johns Wig and Norma Lee Ava combined for over 300 posts and they were followed by the quirky yet loveable (maybe not loveable) TJASTA who was also quite active, knocking up a magnificent ton of Katharine Hepburn and Top Cat gifs, along with his usual copypasta schtick.
Returning players Sterge and tigland were also pretty active, and offered a POD. Both got into the match thread, and it was good to see that it was taken in the right spirit. Welcome back to the league lads.
Metalcrusher from the Bears was also quite active , chiming in with 100-odd posts of pure delight. He is scared of spiders though, so please be mindful of his arachnophobia when you play the Bears next. *actual footage of Crush
Wayne and EJW resumed hostilities after their epic battle earlier in the year over supermarkets and toilet paper, but this match was more focused on a mysterious PM.
It was a vicious fight between the two.
And EJW was hungry afterwards as he was escorted from the prison after trying to enjoy a meal at the Camel Cafe.
The Furies had nearly the full compliment of their list contribute in round 1, 20 by my count, but I ran out of fingers and toes so it may have been more.
They were very engaging in all aspects of banter and have a really bright future ahead if they can keep everyone engaged and active.
The match thread itself had over 2k replies so if you blinked, you’d miss about 4 pages, but it was really enjoyable nonetheless, and I think the Furies are on the right track.
They’ve addressed a few glaring deficiencies in the off-season and recruited accordingly, and I don’t think there was much mention of neck-punching, goon bags, strippers or dumpsters, so we think Ned_Flanders may have turned the corner on his road to recovery.
Up next, I’ll be handing out the awards to 5 lucky Furies.
Stay tuned...
