He's injury prone but damn he's a good player. I think his performance will improve now that our defensive line has improved and Day will hopefully improve too.

I see Fish a bit like Day to be honest, the thought of what he could be (at this stage) is much greater than the reality of him.

2015 if Day has 2 stinkers in a row and Gorringe is fit and playing good football in the 2s switch the 2 give Gorringe a run as the third tall rather then have Day lose more n more confidence each week..and get worse and worse
Let Day get his confidence back in the 2s!! It happens at every club.. Unsure why we had'nt tried this in the past..
Possibly injuries!

Certainly injury has been a factor, but Day seemed to be rusted on in terms of team selection, I assume Bluey was of the mind that more games at the top level = faster progression. I have said before that I like Gorringe as a forward, this is the year to do it as all he has to do is impress the new coach.

matera's an immense talent. any time he gets a loose ball 30m out from goal, a quick snap over the shoulder and it's almost guarenteed to go in.

needs to work on forward pressure a bit more, but i think that's more of a team effort when you look at how the hawthorn forwards pressure the opposition.

Almost forgot our good Harley is..

http://www.goldcoastfc.com.au/video/2014-10-28/2014-highlight-harley-bennell

Has an amazing set shot technique.. Runs straight at the goal and kicks at almost running pace.. So steady and natural

Where is he best position.. Half forward or in the middle..?
I think he is a goal kicking weapon especially after seeing his 6 against geelong.. Would be hard for anytime to shutdown if he spent more time closer to our goals

Does anyone know much about Eades coaching style at the Dogs..
Likes 2 genuine rucks? Or just 1 and a part time
1 key 200cm forward... Or 3?
I wonder who we think is best 22 isn't in Eades big plans.. And vice versa

He had very little key forwards to work with at the Doggies so who knows.

I like the idea of Bennell playing 50/50 forward and midfield next year. He is absolutely destructive when he goes forward. Similar to Wingard in some ways.

And when he is forward we will have to settle with Martin (assuming he has a full pre-season and comes out firing next season) taking his place in the middle. ;)

unsure of martin in the middle.. He'll get hurt and break down.. His to small.. Goes to ground to often.. Needs 10kg..
Floating to n from half forward for another 12months I'd think.

No he doesn't. There are a s**t ton of midfielders under 86kg.

Agreed. Martin doesn't have the body type to put large amounts of muscle/ weight on, and even if he did somehow manage to, it would affect his speed and agility and he probably wouldnt be as good.

4 kilos will be enough. As you said he will always be quite wirey.

Almost forgot how good Harley is
I won a competition earlier in the year for calling Harley the 'next Akermanis'. Was pretty pleased with winning 4 front row game tickets haha.

Except not a pompous narcissistic little campaigner :p

No Danny Stanley?

I think with Eade coming in.. Some of our old favourites.. Might not be seen as often... Some fringe players swapped for others.. Etc..
And if we do get Pickett who comes out of our forward line..?
It's all getting difficult
Day is the obvious choise imo. Tough decisions though.
