Would a Richmond Premiership in 2022 make the team one of the best of all time?

Did Adelaide play every game of the season in vic?
Yeap getting tired of this. No one brings up Hawks of 2015 when they actually lost a QF then hosted.
It's not like the Crows were a dominant force that year like Bombers 00 or cats 07/08. Heck they only finished 2 points ahead of 2nd & 3rd.

First Lynch has to be confirmed in, but after watching last night there's going to have to be some major lift in the squad. Dusty just looks like he's going through the motions, Cotchin is now just Mr Cameo, Bolton's ego has gotten a touch too big and is impacting his on field, Meatball can't do it all himself. Surprisingly Jack who was looking cooked has turned back the clock a bit since Lynch been out. At this point I don't think you'll make a prelim but you never know.

Lynch was confirmed in by Hardwick in the post match presser. Riewoldt has played the last 2 games with a broken hand which is why he had the glove on. But took it off later cause it must not have felt right.

Bolton had a bad game which won’t happen that badly again. If he kicked 2-3 of those sitters you’d be saying he is unreal. Balta also spoiled one of them.

Dusty is still warming up, despite playing below his standard he still kicked 2 goals which is good. You never know he could just explode in the blues game. Most of the time he plays well against them.

Cotchin does stuff you don’t see and has been pretty good this year, but he did play bad against port.

The conditions made both teams look bad, their skills are better than that. I mean we have won the last 5 of 6 and should’ve beaten swans. I give us a crack against an undermanned Carlton any day.

It is a great team. The great Brisbane team of 01 - 04.

That definition of dynasty is not mine. It is what the word means - a constant succession of something - could be greatness, could by tyranny.

The point is it is about succession. In footy terms it would be about sustained success across generations of players.

It is not terminology that is sanctioned by the AFL or statisticians.

No that would be a club dynasty you are talking about not a team one. The Lions, cats, hawks and tigers that everybody talks about are team dynasties hence the “dynasty period” is determined by most flags by the same team in as short a time as possible.

We are zero chance of winning it this year.

That is actually a huge statement. Low chance yes. Zero chance no. Technically WC and Norf have a chance. not zero , but about 0.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001846% each

Every team, every player, every mark, every goal is the greatest of all time judged by those who have watched football for about 5 years! They basically fell over the line against Port at the MCG and everyone's flopping it out...
Exactly. Port were stiff but regardless we're no where near it this season so don't know why anyone would even think there is a chance of a 4th with this list.

A Richmond Premiership in 2022 would give the club 4 Premierships in 6 Years (2017, 2019, 2020 & 2022).

Since World War II these are only 2 other clubs to have won 4 Premierships so quickly.

Melbourne (1955-1960) - 5 Premierships in 6 Years.
Hawthorn (1986-1991) - 4 Premierships in 6 Years.

Richmond would be only the third - and the first entirely within the AFL era.

Surely that is quite a carrot....

Anyone who thinks it wouldn't is either a hater or knows * all bout footy.
4 premierships in the modern era is nothing to sneeze at. And, I would say that about any club winning 4 flags in a short period of time.

Are you seriously saying winning 3/3 GFs is better than winning 3/4 GFs?

Make four GFs and then join the argument.

LMFAOOOOO. 3 flags in 3 years or 3 flags in 4, it is still 3 flags. You know the same amount of flags won.
So let's say saints played in 5 straight GF's and lost them all, what would you prefer or believe to be greater, 3 flags won or playing in 5 straight Grand final losses, it ain't a trick question LOL

whats up with richmond supporters constantly trying to show why their dynasty is better than any others?

the geelong team of the late 00's early / 10's is the best team of the afl era for my money regardless.

What the? do you mean Richmond supporters replying to others, yeah thats what I thought.
For your information for the 4 teams in the modern era who have won dynasties, id have in this order>lions, hawks, who both achieved a 3 peat.
Then the tigers who won 3 in 4 years inc back2back and then cats who won 3 in 6 years.

You'd have to be pretty dumb to think that West Coast's single premiership win in 2018 makes their dynasty just as good as Essendon's 1999-2001 dynasty. They weren't even as good as Geelong's dynasty 1989-1995 who didn't win a premiership.

If premierships are even, grand finals is the next logical metric for measuring the success of a dynasty and Richmond is behind some other teams on that metric. Yes they've won 3 premierships, but they've only had 3 great years. Brisbane had 4 great years, Geelong had 6 great years, Hawthorn had 5 great years.

I would clearly take Brisbane's 3 in 4 GFs, Hawthorn 3 in 4 GFs or Geelong 3 in 4 GFs over Richmond's 3 in 3 GFs.

I say again, Richmond need to make a 4th grand final to join the debate as greatest dynasty of the modern era.

The only reason Richmond are in the 8 is because the AFL is riding them home care of umpire cheating.

They've as much chance of winning the Flag as I do of going back in time and making babies with Elle McPherson.

Yes, I see your point, it seems you're telling a few furphies. Luckily, the free kick count ladder shows the actual facts and not just make-believe fantasy.

bro, you can say what you like, a dynasty is 3 flags won in short succession, We achieved it as did lions, hawks and even the cats 3 in 6 years. All clubs won 3 flags. Are you not getting these WINNING flags is what creates dynasties not how many times you make the GF and lose.

We fell over the line due to our inaccuracy. Tiges had 64 inside 50's to 48 and 7 more scoring shots, but couldn't put it through the big sticks even from 10-15 meters out
Anyway, a win is a win and we move on.

Cats 3 in 5, 2007-11.

I think they are horribly overrated to be honest.
Don't see them doing anything at all this season.

Next week's game is going to be their toughest test of the season. Surprised they are favoured against Carlton on Thursday night. Curnow & McKay will slot 8 between them.
