Bazball sucks, last England Ashes was more entertaining then this

When teams were still setting conventional fields it felt like four or wicket all the time and was pretty entertaining.

However now it feels a bit like we’re watching the middle overs of a 2005-2015 one day game the whole time England bats.

This wicket might give BazBall the best chance to succeed, but it takes some of the entertainment away. A traditional English pitch would entice us to have more slips, less boundary riders.

And yes, I know our pitches are rubbish. However it’s not a straightforward comparison. Our curators have their hands tied behind the backs largely having to deal with drop ins. It’s no coincidence that the best deck in Australia is the one that isn’t a drop in. Here the curators are deliberately making the wicket like this, most people agree that English conditions produce the most entertaining test matches, hopefully we see more traditional English pitches next test.
