Never in doubtMake no mistake, most Swans fans at the ground had their hearts in their throats for most of the game, it was tight.
It is my considered opinion the sole reason we won was due to our score being higher than theirs.
Lloyd didn't play back. He has been on the wing and HF all year.Tbh i kinda feel bad for North that was probably the worst we have played in a very long time Bice/Melican were a comedy act
Midfield disappeared all on Heeney again to carry us, so many missed tackles Stephens shrugged a few.
15.2 essentially won us the game
Backline is a serious concern no way we can go into a final with Bice/Melican/Lloyd.
Difference is we had a mare but won by kicking over 100 again so thats a positive but we nearly conceded 100 in multiple weeks thats bad.

I just wonder whether cox is holding back on the contested game. We saw vs Gold Coast a ferocious near 100 tackles and no contested marks. A small ground made that easier of course.Well North are a better version than the ones we've had other close tussles with here at Marvel these last few years.
That was a bad day for us but we are blessed we kicked so straight in the first half as that got us the win.
When I see the same players out there that represented (embarrassed) us in the 2022 & 2024 GFs & some of our ex players, reserve grade & near end of career players, outplaying us, then I will never be filled with optomism that we have sorted out our past GF issues of the past.
We are in no way better than the 2024 team that sat at 13 & 1 after 14 games & losing the 15th game by 1point to the Dockers. We were flying at 13 wins & 1 loss & a percentage of 149%.
Right now we are 8 & 1 & 157%. I'm sorry but I still don't see a capacity to defend opposition momentum & stall it immediately as p'ship ship threats do. Adam Simpson knows it. Ken Hinkley knows it. When plan A gets taken away from us, we try to persist in making plan A work. Before we know it, the opposition put a gap between us & the players lose the ability to stay calm. That component seems much better this year but we still have pretty much the same lot who failed twice out there.
Sorry my fellow Swan supporters. I live in hope more than belief but no Heeney last week & this week & we were done.
Found a few clips of the outrage circling on twitter
E held onto the ball according to the replay and the tackle dropped off. He shrugged out of the tackle. It was Revolting who kept saying he dropped the ball. The replay CLEARLY says he DIDN'T.Thats being touted on social media as the tipping point for the result as we kicked a goal shortly afterwards
Yes 8 frees in the last 6.5 minutesA few soft umpiring calls their way in last 5mins gave them more of a sniff than they deserved otherwise
You can’t say thatMclean's game today was better than all the games Charlie has played for us other than the one against WB. In particular, his ability to come forward to the ball, mark and convert was impressive. Charlie has been sitting out the back and he has been inaccurate.
That was actually legging. And it dropped off without Heeney ever dropping the ballAlmost a trip then heeney still has the ball when wardlaws let go
Seen way worse get over it north losers

Of the hottest takes. This would be up thereMclean's game today was better than all the games Charlie has played for us other than the one against WB. I don't think the implication is he leaves the backs. I think it was a comment about him being a lock down player. He is not that. He is an attacking back and we don,'t want to fall into the mistake Longmire made with making him lockdown a forward. Make them put a defensive forward in him by encouraging him to attack. If Blakey isn't in the back 6 where is he going to play?
Do you think that was maybe because the defenders were more worried about and therefore paying a lot more attention to Amartey rather than McLean? It appeared to me that without Charlie there, they were a whole lot more worried about Joel than good old titanic Hayden.Mclean's game today was better than all the games Charlie has played for us other than the one against WB. Has to be close to most improved on the list. Really happy for him, you can see he feels like he belongs and the confidence helpsOne who has surprised me is Gus.
He has adapted to the running game beautifully and is kicking goals as well. I didn’t think he had that in him.
He missed a sitter. Went OOF. Amartey missed two sitters. Usually Joel is a really good shot at goal but occasionally he can do some shitty kicks. I think Haydos is hit or miss at the best of times. But he usually kicks easy shots well. Not today. He did kick goals though.Mclean's game today was better than all the games Charlie has played for us other than the one against WB. Absofkinglutely stick the tackle first & not let it slide to a trip you idiot Riedwolt. I couldn’t believe that.Maybe stick the ****ing tackle would be the starting point if you’re going to complain
We're now up to 16 times a Swans player has kicked 3+ this season, and McLean becomes the tenth individual Swans player to do so.
The system is so much bigger and better than any of the individuals within it at the moment.
(Not that the individuals are bad at all.)
Yep my thoughts. I feel like we have 1 style of play where as Brisbane has 3 different modes they can play in any given match.momentum & stall it immediately as p'ship ship threats do. Adam Simpson knows it. Ken Hinkley knows it. When plan A gets taken away from us, we try to persist in making plan A work. Charlie sitting down back is what has opened up the forward line for the other forwards.Mclean's game today was better than all the games Charlie has played for us other than the one against WB. Yes I think that's the case. They had two players flying against Joel all day. Two following him around. But I have to say, McLean and Joel were far too close to each other most of the day. Same with McDonald. They just slipped into 2024, instead of 2026,which is spread and conquer.Do you think that was maybe because the defenders were more worried and therefore paying a lot more attention to Amartey rather than McLean? It appeared to me that without Charlie there, they were a whole lot more worried about Joel than good old titanic Hayden.
