Thornton has been a wicket taker in list A but can be expensive and has lacked control... his control looked much improved in these 2 games still a few get sprayed but not the 1+ per over that I've seen on some of his worse days...
 
Would I be correct in saying that Thornton struggles to be a regular member of a shield side.I see he has played in NSW,VIC and SA.
Bit of an enigma is Thornton. A Sydney boy he excelled in underage cricket, even played in the same U19 Aussie /England series as now. But somehow he struggled to make the junior/senior transition and was never a Blue. I was both surprised and pleased when the Vics picked him up a couple of years back and expected him to play some state cricket. Now SACA is more likely to give him a crack with the Spiders in both formats this season.
