A largish, out of condition, hirsute former flag waver regularly did four or five games the first weekend of finals, and being dead keen on match fitness and $ grasped at every opportunity to do the odd extra Friday night or Sunday game at Sportscover. In any case he did one or two junior games every Sunday as a warm-down from the previous day's extravagances. How else to maintain the staccato crackling of the twirling calicos?

Must be seriously short of flag wavers if this turns out to be the case. Hopefully it is matter of just not yet being appointed. This is a dead rubber and more riding on other games and maybe priority has been given to Thirds finals? I would expect a few to double up and make it to this game by the first bounce. Would be disappointing if clubs have to provide their own.
 
Just looked at sides for Oakleigh and Therry. It appears Therry resting a few including Bannisters

I wouldn't say a dead rubber.Oakleigh lose and Prahran win they swap spots in the four. However just notioced Therry resting a few including Bannisters. Afraid of Prahran ,who made them look 2nd rate last time they played.

I was talking about the Hampton Rovers V Ormond game which is/was a dead rubber.

It’s pretty poor that a finals match or a relegation match took precedence over a dead rubber especially one involving the most important club in the Ammos...

VAFA is still tracking better than other smaller leagues who cannot provide goal umpires every week to their senior grades

When will an announcement be made re finals venues? (PS Hope the second semi won't be at Elsternwick Park!)

BTW, the VAFA website might have made a major error in regarding the first semi final matchup. According to the ladder, Oakleigh will meet Therry Penola this week at a venue yet to be determined, but when you look at the VAFA fixtures, Therry will play against Prahran Assumption. So the question is, has the VAFA stuffed it up again with their website?

FWIW that would be awkward for the Vafa if all 3 teams turned up.
 
Interesting night. The 2nd semi is at Elsternwick , sorry Jase.
Fantastic turn up of Hampton people at the per match lunch with over 30 people , well done. Should be a classic this week with both clubs having 4 or 5 to return.
The Brunswick beating Preston was hard to believe ,what happened to the Bullants in the last few weeks ?
