I'm not sure if anyone noticed, but in the 1st quarter their new recruit (Holland) ran from one end of the ground to the other. It was astonishing and I'm not sure if any other player has done that before. The least the commentators could have done was to tell us about it for a few minutes.
This why I love Bigfooty.

Well played dosser, very well played indeed.

Most teams have a big defender these days.

Sam De Koning, H Andrews, Butts, Miller, Moore, Pearce, M Andrew etc etc
H Andrews was drafted as a ruck/forward. Pearce was a tall forward. Tom and Paddy McCartin were key forwards. If Amartey or McLean could make the transition to backman then it would give them a career.

We make up for our lack of key defensive tall ability with great defence through the middle and ability to rebound and put on a decent score.

We make it work well enough, and in saying that our defenders always grind away and put in a decent shift. But we'd definitely go to another level if we had that premier big bloke defender. Should be our main target this off season with whatever cap space we have in the bank

“Obviously, their depth was tested without Patrick Cripps, Harry McKay, Sam Walsh, Mitch McGovern, Nic Newman, Corey Durdin, Zac Williams, Jack Martin, Caleb Marchbank, David Cuningham, Matt Cottrell and Jordan Boyd. To name a few.”

Cmon now.. stop at Walsh please.. rubbish journo

12/40 or 30% of their squad is "a few"

We were missing Mills, Papley and Hickey too so were not exactly full strength.
