Managing staff is tricky, yes... but that's no excuse for systematically and deliberately underpaying them as part of the company's business model. This is about restaurant owners deliberately underpaying their staff, in order to pocket greater profits themselves. It's not about managing staff shifts.

I haven’t read any of the ins and outs. I do know that if the Alice Springs golf club was audited, there’d be a substantial underpayment but not to do with anything other than not paying OT when employees didn’t have their unpaid breaks.

What’s a Shahin?
Own the OTR stores in SA and built the Tailem Bend Motorsport park. Pretty common knowledge they treat their staff like s**t and rip them off as much as they can. No one has been able to take them on before so this class action will be interesting.

Anyone have an account with these guys, wouldn't mind knowing the essence of the paywalled part, sounds like the guv spent 5 billion not including sports rorts in a slightly to significantly illegal way to help with the election (it was all around that time).

An astonishing decision, given the new numbers of COVID19 arising out of South Korea, Japan and Italy.

Senior high school students from China will be allowed to travel to Australia under a strict exemption announced by the Federal Government. Federal Education Minister Dan Tehan today revealed Year 11 and 12 students from mainland China, excluding from Hubei province, would be considered on a case-by-case basis.

This appears to be a first step before allowing tertiary students from China back in the country at the request of the university lobby, although the act of putting profits above the health and safety of Australian citizens may backfire.

The is just bloody stupid - universities have had an unhealthy reliance on Chinese students. Anyone would tell you don’t put your eggs in the one basket but they did and why? Because it was easy and it was lazy. Same goes for those businesses that have relied upon China. I have no sympathy for those that only concentrated on the Chinese market to source - bloody stupid. You spread your risk so not reliant upon one market. Business 101. Those that have been lazy in this regard get no sympathy, they have been derelict.

Damn. Bernie is crushing it. These primaries are following the same trend from 2016 where the second people actually start voting, the moderate candidates get blown out of the water. Biden's campaign is toast.

So Albo is sliding and Libs now 49-51, seems the doom and gloom for ScoMo might have been a bit premature and given how poor a couple of months have been, Labor should be smashing them. Seems Albos zero emissions target hasn’t gone down well, might want to release some details on how he’s going to get there, unlike his loser mate Shorten.

Oh and 70% of what Get Up collected went to staff, admin and travel. What fools would donate to these clowns?

Ha ha. Let’s wait for trends rather than one poll. Morrison’s disapproval at 58% is disastrous. If he keeps a rating like this to the election, the LNP won’t win.

And get it right it is Net Zero Emissions. The same one that most other countries are adopting.

Where do you think Getup would spend their money? They ain’t a charity like a Red Cross. They need to be one of those that keep the Government honest. After all, this government needs to be kept honest than most.

Yes let’s wait for a trend just like the polls leading up to the last election.

So how does Albo plan on getting to Net Zero Emissions? Or do you think it’s smart strategy to not release the details again? Inserts laughing emoji.

As for Get Up, exactly how are they keeping them honest if 70% is going to wages, admin and travel? Oh and it worked last election. Inserts even more laughing emojis.

Actually, how does SmoCo intend to get to Zero Net Omissions given they have also signed up to the Paris Agreement as well? You don’t think getting to Zero Net Omissions is a good thing?

What is wrong with having a target and then put the plans in place? The details don’t need to be released now, why should they? He just has to say, “this is the target and we will release full details later closer to the election”. They don’t need to be dictated by the MSM or government. Remember, they announced all their policies last time, well in advance and all that did was give the government and MSM the ability to target them. Do what the government seems to be doing at the moment, do stuff all. That seems to be the Coalitions current modus operandi.

Really, do you actually follow Getup. If not, then you have NFI.

Yep, just like Mutineer, you do nothing, you should have stayed in the cave.

Mate you’re the very definition of doing nothing, you didn’t even vote!!!!!

By the way, how is the economy going :-

Interest rates at all time lows (stuff those relying on interest rates to sustain them - by the way that’s not me
GDP is anaemic
A$ is at 11 year lows
Wage growth is stagnant
Motor vehicle sales lowest since 2010
Retail sales tanking
Unemployment not improving
Personal debt at all time highs

You see that is the difference between you and me. I realise I made a mistake, own it and won’t do it again.

But you, you can’t see the forest for the trees, won’t own it and will still do nothing.

The bigger individual is to acknowledge it and do something about it. You are the nothing man!

Any rate get back to work and stay off blogs in your bosses time!

45% of our (campus) international students are Chinese. This is having MASSIVE impacts on all Universities.

You were dragged kicking and screaming to acknowledge you ****ed up, don’t take the high ground now.

True on the last point, been the smartest thing you’ve posted, but big night, slow start.....

Those looney lefties JP Morgan now warning of dangers of not doing enough on climate:

"we cannot rule out catastrophic outcomes where human life as we know it is threatened."

I assume the Universities are looking at contingency plans. eg. Contact time by Skype

So the question for the Government is do they attempt to kick-start the economy with stimulus or continue on their no debt policy?

Can't have it both ways...

I think we all know which answer Scotty from Marketing would give... "How good is the cricket?"

Again, a lazy business practice. You never let one be exposed to such a high degree of concentration. To do so is exposing yourself to an unnecessary risk. You should never do it in business. Business 101. But they do it because it is easy. It is lazy!
