Baily has been poor this year, still wins.
Freeny hasn't played since like week 9 and won't play again this season.
Eugene WIlson? he has barely played at all, he isn't even a starter, makes top-5 as a FS.
Bruschi wins ILB?
Washington doesn't make top 2 KR :D
CHRIS HANSEN WINS PUNTER??? he has the second lowest average for a starting punter.
Addai wins HB
Kazcur as no.2 T
just amazing

And my favourite flower grower, Troy Polamalu, hasn't been sighted making those razzle dazzle plays... NOT ONE flippin' sack yet!! but this bunch of know-alls pick him??

popularity contest I agree. TBH, I haven't bothered with the Hawaiian Exhibition matches for the last 6 years. Whole lotta fluff.

Re: Pro-bowl fan voting done. CHRIS HANSEN wins punter

I used to love it and take it as gospel until last year when I disagreed with a few decisions. Even though those choices aren't final, it's still just annoying how stupid most people are when it comes to this sort of thing. As mentioned, Polamalu. He hasn't done a thing.
Welker is number 5, which isn't too bad. I guess he would be behind Moss, Johnson, Edwards and Housh.
Freeney is a joke. The commentators just talk him up every time he gets a sack (which these days is rarely) so people think he's the best.
We'll see later in the season who actually makes it.

Re: Pro-bowl fan voting done. CHRIS HANSEN wins punter

The pro bowl has never been accurate. Its a pop contest and will always never get the people who should be there in Hawaii. Its seems the dominant teams just get the plane tickets rather than the best players. I would say that Wilfork,Vrabel,Brady,Moss and Welker are all deserving however.Mizza what are you on about?!

Re: Pro-bowl fan voting done. CHRIS HANSEN wins punter

I can't really describe how much hatred I have for Cowgirls and many of their fans. Can't even get used to it yet.

Edited for the NFC Voting

Re: Pro-bowl fan voting done. CHRIS HANSEN wins punter

The is absouloute s**t how if wes welker in as a wide reciever

You've got to be kidding me??? Welker is as important as Randy Moss to the Patriots... He's an absolute gun!!!! 3rd down master!! The best slot reciever in the league.

AFC-
Braylon Edwards/ Andre Johnson should have been the 2nd WR.

Kerry Rhodes was a monty for SS.

DeMeco Ryans was a monty for MLB.

Jared Allen/ Mario Williams was a monty for DE.

Rashean Mathis/ Antonio Cromartie was a monty for 2nd CB.

PS: Bailey has hasn't had a poor year at all. In comparison to last year he's been down, but that is a reflection of the Broncos horrendous TEAM performance. He's only given up 2-3 TD's on the year, which is phenomenal, and HAS NOT been dominated in any game at all. Still easily the games best CB.

NFC-
As long as Al Harris is the 2nd CB. :thumbsu:

As long as Ernie Sims is the 2nd OLB. :thumbsu:

As long as Patrick Kerney is the 2nd DE. :thumbsu:

London Fletcher/ Lofa Tatupu was a monty for MLB.

LaRon Landry/ Michael Lewis should be SS.

Re: Pro-bowl fan voting done. CHRIS HANSEN wins punter

Will the coaches and players do the right thing and pick Sean Taylor at free safety for the NFC? I hope so - it would be another nice touch.

And will Fred Taylor get a game - the great man is surely due.:thumbsu:

Re: Pro-bowl fan voting done. CHRIS HANSEN wins punter

How is Cromartie not there? FFS.
Its just a popularity contest. The Bucs and Jags are going to the playoffs while the Dolphins have won 1 game, yet the Dolphins get Taylor to the Pro Bowl but the Bucs and Jags cant get anyone....not even as reserves. What a joke. If Jermaine Phillips hasnt been the best safety in the entire NFL let alone the NFC then I havent watched over 100 games this year.
Players such as Ogden, Taylor, Gonzalez (to some extent), Bailey have had far from stellar years but get in ahead of some younger players who have been great (Joe Thomas, Mario Williams, Kellen Winslow, Cromartie).
Plus Derek Anderson should be in ahead of Roethlisberger.

Hopefully Gruden uses this as a spur come playoff time. The last time the Bucs had this many pro bowl snubs was in 2002.....wonder what happened that year.....Bucs for the Super Bowl baby!! :D

Obviously not

No Fred Taylor

And somehow Willie Parker gets the AFC start.

Lets see:

Yes Willie Parker has 1317 yards to Taylor's 1019 so far

BUT

Parker is rushing @ 4.1 per attempt to Taylor's 5.1

To be fair, both RB's are second fiddle in their teams for scoring TD's but Taylor has 4 to Parker's 2.

Parker has 4 fumbles to Taylor's 2

And Taylor has 3 40+ rushes this year to Parker's 0. In fact the 'elusive' (according to Madden '08) Parker's longest run of his 320 carries is 32.

And Parker has played against a powder-puff schedule (based on rushing defense) compared to Taylor. Twice vs Cincinnatti (ranked 24th in rushing defense), Twice vs Cleveland 28th, Denver 29th, NYJ 30th and Mia 32nd.

That's half his season against bottom quartile opponents. BTW Taylor has had a whole 3 games against bottom quartile opponents.

Don't punish a man for having the league's #1 backup taking carries away from him.

Players like Cromartie who come from nowhere and have a huge season usually have to wait until the following season until they get voted in....it's kinda unfair because technically they should get in that year, but at least waiting a year means they aren't just one year wonders if they're voted in.
