For Saints I'd have Jimmy Gwilt in the back and Goddard in the middle more. And if Goddard goes back Grammy in the middle. But we definetly need Gwilt in the back.

B: Nick Smith - LRT - Craig Bolton
HB: Tadhg Kennelly - Heath Grundy - Nick Malceski

Smith the only query because he will be our tagger next year so he might play in the middle at times. So maybe Smith/Shaw/Mattner for a pocket. The other 5 should be locks for next year barring injury.

Essendon:
Dustin Fletcher
Tayte Pears
Heath Hocking
Nathan Lovett-Murray
Cale Hooker
Henry Slattery

Piss Slattery off and bring in Hurley.

Isn't Hurley a better forward than defender? I know thats where I'd want him played if he was with us.

West Coast:
Darren Glass
Eric Mackenzie
Matthew Sphanger
Shannon Hurn
Beau Waters
Brett Jones

Two definite outs. Schofield in for Spangher, Butler in for Bones.

Waters sometimes plays in the midfield or as a defensive forward in which case one of our young HBF flankers take his spot. (Smith, Sheppard or Stevenson).

Mitch Brown is another tall to consider if you go that far it's far too much crystal ball gazing.

That back six gives me hope. The midfield needs a lot of work, and the forward line is developing, but the three talls in Hurley, Pears and Hooker should be a future strength. Collingwood will also have a good defense going into the future, alongside Melbourne, to go with the rest of the ground they have covered.

5th Tall: Brad Symes
6th Tall: Michael Doughty

Is it right?

Replace Braddles with Andy Otten and I'd say it's pretty much right.

I'd go

Luke McPharlin
Chris Tarrant
Antoni Grover
Roger Hayden
Paul Duffield
Greg Broughton

I'd agree Silver and the sad thing is not once this Season have we been able to get that back six on the park at the same time. Tarrant and his next best replacement (Silvagni) still injured now.

Port's back six is starting to get a good look to it for the future, with three very decent tall defenders, a great small stopper who is severely under-rated in Surjan and a couple of mid-sized players who are defensively strong:

FB.......Surjan........Carlile.........P. Stewart

HB........Moore........Trengove.......Chaplin

Back-ups
Talls:
Chad Cornes (not best 22 any more IMO)
Salter

Mediums:
Pettigrew

Smalls:
Logan
Pittard (long-term)
