Still think this bowling attack is overrated

Got to bowl quick, just like scoring quickly. And then you watch a an opposition bowler (Abbas as an example) wipe the floor with our bats bowling under 130km/h average. One of the most overrated of the lot is Starc, who easily loses his s**t and can get go for a lot quickly. I actually think the team bowling would be improved with someone like Tremain.

Yeah in my view it is - he's two levels down, Warner is at No.2. I think it presents a number of concerns, technique, motivation, confidence. This is the guy some people think is a "once in a generation player" (Never in my view) He's back in grade and just bog average. That's a real worry I reckon.

An unquiet mind?

Adapting to conditions isnt part of a good technique?

I think, whilst being pedantic here, that's not strictly "technique". I think that's more preparation and changing mindset/tactics to adjust: choosing to take some time to see the bowlers in foreign conditions and getting used to playing later/earlier, weighing more on the front foot and playing out of the crease a bit more to negate some swing. These are the things I truly think Warner fails pretty badly at.

He could average 40 odd last summer and that won't change your mind.

That is because you are set in your ways of hoping he does badly. It was good bowling but whatever. He got out for 5!!!!, DROP HIM!!!!!!! Continue on talking crap

Yes, he had a good summer last year. Again NOs pad his stats a bit, but he was pretty solid.

Fact of the matter is he's captain and I have literally no confidence that he will stay in when he goes out to bat. His captaincy in the field doesn't inspire much confidence either. He's lucky we have no other options for captain IMO.

Who made a 20/20 specialist our test opener? How can Marsh be in our team and probably deserve to be based on what everyone else is producing? How many times lately has our bottom 4 outscored out top four? We have the best batsmen in the world why isnt he playing?

To my mind this is one of the worst batting performances I have ever seen by Australia. There have been instances when we have been bundled out for fewer runs, but usually due to conditions or great bowling. In this case, the bowling has just been tight and we are batting ourselves out of the game...

Not wanting to diminish the disciplined bowling of the Indians, but I don't view their attack as one that should cause this much trouble for a reasonable test batting lineup. Some of the dismissals have been absolutely terrible. Take Marsh - his mode of dismissal is unforgivable given the role he has been selected to play (the experienced older hand). It really is time for him to go!

I do think the Indian bowlers have been more consistent than ours, their best work has been these last 20 overs with the old ball we looked lost and just started bowling short when the ball went softer.

Hanscomb looked good until that poor shot. Had has looked good though

I'd actually say he looked pretty similar to be honest (albeit slightly better on the front foot). He has the talent but, once again, got out in a very familiar fashion: Indecisive wofting cut outside off and edging behind. Definitely should see some faith from the selectors though.
