How is it a furphy? How is Schofield blameless for what happened in the prelim final?
Your points are valid but it was very much a total no-show from the whole team wasn't it. A Collective of absentees....

I don't know the answer to that Ford. Do we really believe Hinkley listens to anyone? We've had countless assistant coach changes and nothing has really changed. I've kept a keen eye on Schoey for many years whilst he was coaching. Watched WAFL grand finals and hoped we would get him to Alberton one day.How is it a furphy? Do we really think Jarrad Schofield can't coach, midfield or otherwise?

Given the way he behaves in public, it is incredibly easy to believe that Hinkley doesn't deal well with differing opinions.
While I take Ford's point about Schofield having to take a good deal of the blame for the midfield's failure in the prelim, ongoing conflict between the head and line coaches, culminating in the line coach basically being out the door before the game, wouldn't have helped.
Anyway, we will see how well he does in a different system in 22.
So what you're saying is that Schofield was the genius two weeks earlier.
I don't think there's any one reason for the prelim final collapse, the most obvious overall factor that hit me was that one team wanted to win and one team thought they would win.
I'm not saying that at all. You're just being disingenuous.
I was being a smart arse. Should have added a smiley.
Choco wore down everyone he coached with as well. He admitted as much re Phil Walsh.
After the 2004 grand final, assistants (coach and fitness) scattered to the four winds. Alastair Clarkson had left in the lead up after being poached by Hawthorn as head coach.
But we smashed the Lions in that grand final.
Yeah. I wouldn't have wanted to work for Choco either. His style reminds me too much of some law firm partners.
I think my feeling stems from the fact that one of Ken and Jarrad has had plenty of chances to get things right, while the other hasn't. In those circumstances, Schofield gets the benefit of any doubt from me.
I actually think Schoey can't coach - the way Ken wants him toI don't know the answer to that Ford. Do we really believe Hinkley listens to anyone? Unfortunately not. Contracted til the end of 2023. Got a 2 year extension in JanuaryIs this the last year of Ken’s contract?

Instead of the media attacking our supporters, they should be asking why Schofield left suddenly the morning after the PF embarrassment
Didn’t he leave after the PF because he’d already told the club he was going to WA but he’d stay until the end of the season?Instead of the media attacking our supporters, they should be asking why Schofield left suddenly the morning after the PF embarrassment
Something changed dramatically because he signed an extension mid year.Didn’t he leave after the PF because he’d already told the club he was going to WA but he’d stay until the end of the season?
Media in this state have inferenced a 'not to touch it' regarding what did or didn't happen.Something changed dramatically because he signed an extension mid year.
Yeah, he got offered a better job in a city he preferred to live in. Need to remember he’d only coached WAFL before he came to us, we were his stepping stone, he has nowhere near the experience of others eg Voss/Montgomery.Something changed dramatically because he signed an extension mid year.
