It is starting to seem obvious that we need to shift out Milera and move Cumming down back. Nank out for Edwards? (I wont pretend I watch SANFL).

Peatling to take the bulk of CBAs, Dawson/Rankine to get less. Rachele to get more. Draper/Berry to get some.

Our forward pressure is abysmal. ANB has to be one of the slowest players I've ever seen for a small bloke.

Rachele is too busy being dangerous which is fine and the rest are tall. The mix is wrong and we need a real dog like pressure player in there as well. No, not a Murphy/Mchenry type player, someone who can contribute but has wheels. I don't see one on the list.

That being said

Out - Milera, Nank, Tex (a proper rest)
In - Berry, Draper, Edwards
I’d play Edwards where he’s been playing well at sanfl level

Not a good spot to debut someone re wing if they haven’t been playing there

Out Soligo ( well needed rest, call it a corkie ) , Milera ( omitted / rested / whatever it takes ) Tex ( rested )

In Draper Edwards Pedlar

Berry plays full game and Taylor sub

Sog had a great second half. Both Tex and Milera should be dropped. Tex has been a liability for 3 weeks, time he’s held accountable for his form.

I think it’s a sign of corridor use but I am surprised they haven’t found more ball , especially Cumming

In the end they’re both half backs playing wing

I like their games more than Sholls 23 possession ones though
It's a very interesting situation with Sholl.
Everyone wants to bag him but we haven't found another guy to play the wing and find the ball like he does.
He does a lot right but he does tend to be a bit weak in the contest but then is a wingman meant to be in the contest ?
I'm not sure he deserves some of the criticism that he cops on here

Main issue i have has with Sholl is we usually run him into the ground then banish him for a while... rather than strategically managing him to keep him fresh.

Need wingmen who cover plenty of ground & often much of the hard running doesn't result in possessions.

Walker cost us more than we gain from his few goals. Teams set up play and run of him. He gives very little aerially and can't keep the ball in the 50. Time for him to go and say to Curtain....the position is yours ...demand the ball, crash packs and keep the ball locked in. He's quicker, 4cm taller and can tackle and mark above his head.
So, in your opinion, it's Curtin(s) for Tex ...? :sneaky:

When Sholl played he's usually the highest km player on the ground for us. He often racks it up because he works so hard to push back and get touches in our defensive half of the ground.

He runs hard, finds the ball and uses it well.
He is often helping out in the last line of defence and then can be found doing damage up forward.
I wouldn't be surprised to see him back in the team soon.
Unless Nicks has marked his papers
Just another player that Nicks cant see and use his strengths but focuses on their weaknesses

We arent winning a flag with our midfield, milera, laird and butts in the team. We should follow Brisbane and try and recruit a top line mid such as Merrett as they did with Neale and Dunkley and follow the Hawks as the did in their premiership years and recruit a top line defender such as Brian Lake. Lastly we need a top line coach. I would go after John Longmire now before he's snapped up. Hardwick is the best but we missed the boat backing a dud. Chris Scott just as good but he's never leaving Geelong.
Chris Scott can be lured

The biggest issue with Sholl, and it always has been, is his lack of physical presence when its time to go.

When hes up and going and using the ball well that doesn't matter as much, but it was a glaring issue to start the year.
