If we give them pick 5 they have to sweeten it. 2nd rounder at an absolute minimum. They have 24 this year.
Personally id go for next years second and hope they fall off the cliff.

We need picks this year.
5 for 24 in a draft that drops off after two and evens out would he a really good for us.
That is such a simplistic view. Anyone with half a footy brain can see Battle has natural ability in the forward line. We're just lucky he has ability to play in the backline too. Not sure what height has to do with anything.
We also need picks next year for Bing.
Not really, we already have enough.
Battle has a bit of Jack Darling about him in the forward line. Don't think too many would be complaining if he turned out like him.

7 goals in his first 4 games. Judging his career so far on how many goals kicked is irrelevant when he spent probably 18 of his 26 games in defense.

We currently have a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th rounder and can also use our 2021 1st.
If we can't get a deal with those picks there is something wrong.

I would have thought a simplistic view would be to assume that every player who "shows a bit" will be an automatic lock in a position they've never played in.
Battle "showed a bit" as a second/third tall - does not mean he could replace someone like Bruce as a key forward as has been suggested on a number of occasions.
If our first pick is 18 our picks wont be too attractive, but who would care?

I think the general consensus is that Max King replaces Bruce, but if king isn’t playing for whatever reason then Battle would be moved forward. Not sure how having options is a bad thing.
I’ll bet you slab of furphys they aren’t the picks we go into next year with.

It’s up to the lad himself and he needs to be resolute. The Suns won’t force him into the draft. They will deal when the time comes.

Only way it's an issue is if we trade our 2020 first out which I can't see happening right now.
Well no we are talking about next years picks, and yes, if we trade in a better pick than we trade out that would improve our leverage to get king.
