Roast 50/50-Rong Rucci Reckoning - The R-Files

Rucci is the world's biggest spin doctor, now he's trying to cover up how much money Hinkley is now getting.

"Ken's base rate is the same for his new deal"

Rucci is just a pissant lil man who works in a vacuum.

While the rest of the Footy media were writing about a big story regarding "his"club he was totally oblivious to it and had to concoct some sort of outrage about how we stand during the National Anthem.

Rucci would have a point if it was Anzac day or something like that.

Can we make a list of where Rucci has specifically shafted or made a point of something in the media against Adelaide? I'd love to see a complete list and I'm sure some of you have good memories.

Obvious one is the Gibbs not qualifying for Adelaide all those years back.
Recently it's the BS over the anthem.

I wouldn't be surprised that if (big if) we make the GF v Tigers, he pushing the argument of Crows wearing their away strip.

So who can make a list? Would be nice to see a complete overview of his agenda.

Brett Burton "clarification"

I was actually about to post this, but i reckon largely its his continual, thinly veiled, "kicking the boot in" when he can to us and his obvious "turn a blind eye" when it comes to poort. His little protege, fireflog kane, is well on his way to replicating that behaviour.

He's actually going to bat for us on the guernsey scenario, but even when he throws his support behind us there's likely an ulterior motive. This one being that we likely have no right to wearing our home strip like Gilligan said, and it will likely be a coin toss as the GF is supposedly "neutral".... which i'm actually not too fussed about. So maybe he's trying to get free kudos?

In any event, we shouldn't be wasting oxygen on this jaded, hack.

I am just about to listen to the podcast now just to laugh at Rucci's expense.

I didn't realise they had a podcast, just listened to Rucci's whinge. Funny stuff. What Rucci fails to realise is that yes, the people want to hear from our players, and we do. The bubble is not around the club it is around him.

Notice he mentioned he met with Chapman, and it wasn't "we've sorted things out". It was "he's made it clear".

Podcast here for anyone else.

He was just on SEN and squibbed the whole guernsey issue totally, made sure he had a go at AFC for not making themselves open to the media

I reckon I listed them out a few years ago, but off the top of my head the ones I know about are

Brett Burton's carry over points which lead to him missing a Showdown, Rucci tried to justify it by saying that it was a mistake by the AFL and pointed it out to the AFL in the interests of fairness. A few weeks later the identical situation occurs with Wakelin, but rather than report it Rucci just swept it under the carpet and when someone asked him why did not report it like he did with Burton he had the gall to say "I already did their job for them once, It's not my job to continually point out mistakes to the AFL".

Bryce Gibbs father/son, a couple of years before the PAFC applied to the AFL for Brett Ebert to be a father son, the problem was that Russell didn't play enough games so they included Escort Cup games in their calculations to make sure that Russell Ebert met the criteria. Fast forward a couple of years and Adelaide apply for Gibbs as a father/son and use the same method of calculation was used by Port for Ebert and the AFL initially said it was fine. Enter Rucci who requested clarification from the AFL as to why these games were allowed to be counted and the AFL backflipped on their decision and we missed out on Gibbs. Once again dead silence when he knew that Port were doing it, but a request for "clarification" to the AFL when we did it.

Dangerfield playing TAC cup in 2008. When we recruited Dangerfield we allowed him to stay in Melbourne for 12 months and he was given permission to play TAC cup football for that season. So Rucci once again sends a request for clarification to the AFL as to why Dangerfield was allowed to play TAC Cup after he was drafted and made a big song and dance to try to stop Dangerfield from being allowed to play in the TAC cup that year.

More recently he asked the AFL why Walker wasn't given a 2nd warning for his misconduct charge against the Bulldogs and now he's questioning the AFL about how we stood during the anthem.

I was also told on good authority that the AFC remained silent about recruiting Taylor Walker to ensure that we didn't end up with another Gibbs scenario because the club was worried that Rucci/other clubs would try and white ant his eligibility.

He's most probably talking about it in the hope that he can bait the club and the supporters into talking about it. That way if we lose he can bag us for getting ahead of ourselves worrying about which guernsey we're going to wear in the grand final before we'd even made it.

Rucci is horribly predictable and I think the club is more than awake to his nonsense now.

I really hope when he goes on his holidays to Italy next month, his passport and Australian citizenship gets revoked

How can he do all that and seriously wonder why the club doesn't want to give him any access?

IF the crows win it this year i'd rather he wasnt allowed out of the country. Imagine all the bitter passive aggressive articles he would have to write through gritted teeth.

Another classic Rucci moment was bagging Crows supporters for leaving against Melbourne when they were three goals down a few years ago.

Pretty sure he said that it was completely unforgivable and when people brought up Port he said that Port supporters have never left when a game is close and made a point that he'll never let it go either because it was a terrible look for the game.

Has anyone heard Rucci even mention the Port supporters leaving and missing the win against St Kilda ? I certainly haven't and it's ironic again that when the Crows did it "it was a terrible look for the game", yet Port do it worse and suddenly it's never discussed and just swept under the carpet.

Can you imagine the head shaking it would cause if the Media tried this on Port

His article today is rehashing the Crows games this year with the usual journalistic savvy of a grade 2 composition - "Round 10 - Wow it poured ..."

Obvious now he's that out of the loop - how long can the Sadvertiser print this s**t ?

Port are safe because I can't think of any other sports journalist in Australia other than Rucci who would be unprofessional and ethically bankrupt enough to deliberately abuse their role just so that they can white ant an opposition club.

The thought of him even sniffing around our bandwagon makes me nauseous.

Sickening little ****

I wonder if Rucci sought clarification as to whether Hartlett followed proper concussion protocol after his head knock in that Final against the WCE.

They have form in that area and he looked pretty groggy straight after it.....

I was thinking this during the game at the time. Hartlett looked pretty dazed after that hit. Had a real stupid look on his face like he was 5, just wet the bed and his parents got him up to change the sheets.

Could you imagine if it was us, he would be writing article after article about how the club is putting players in danger by avoiding concussion protocols and would be running to the AFL demanding them punish us.

I am still convinced that the incident involving Hartlett last year against Hawthorn was a cover up.

It was blatantly obvious from his half time interview that he was concussed as he was absolutely incoherent. I have always suspected that they took him off the field so that he could clear his head, but they deliberately skipped the concussion testing because they knew that they were going to lose him for the game.

They most probably thought they could do it and no-one would ever suspect anytihng.

Once the questions started to get asked rather than come clean they just concocted a bullshit story where they claimed that they ran through a quick concussion test while he was on the bench and then sent him back on the field after 6 mins and just forgot to tell the interchange steward.

I definitely wouldn't be surprised at all if they once again kept Hartlett out there playing after another concussion in the West Coast game because that's the way that Port roll.

How about Ebert last year after Port falsified the medical report to bury Sloane? Pretty sure Ebert played the next week
