Autopsy 8 point win vs North

Yeah nah. Sorry that's BS.

Every grand final winner from the past 20 years has put up performances like that today.

Man . Brisbane had some proper stinkers on their way to looking so dominant in GFs.

Same with Richmond during their "Dynasty". They were the kings of winning ugly and just scrapping by.

Today. North played at a higher intensity and pressure than the swans. Yet the swans still won.

Yes we won, but accepting performances like that is why Sydney have such a bad record in Grand Finals. You should never accept performances like that and say "well we still won" because it means we don't learn from it, or try harder.

Who says they accepted anything?

They actually seemed pretty blergh after it .

Cox will be unhappy to concede 27 scoring shots after conceding 29 last week.

Defence is an issue - all over the ground and maybe in the midfield at times, all good to run and gun but you have to go both ways

Thats going to be the ? on us all season regardless how many wins we get.

Good thing offense is the best in the league releases the pressure from the defence somewhat

We were number 1 for defence 2 weeks ago , and our best defender is out and we are conceding bigger scores , no coincidences here

Not to mention Bice has lost confidence since the dogs game .

Defence has looked a beat off the last two weeks with no TMac but thought Rampe and especially Mills stood up today back there. Loved some of Edwards moments in the air, keeping Larkey goalless is a great feather in his cap.

Felt we had too many passengers in that first half. Great to see after half time we get more contributors on board from some role players and not have to necessarily rely on our stars. Heeney and Blakey were great but thought Sheldrick had a productive second half and got involved. Wicks was more composed, Lloyd was hit and miss today but still gave us important run.

Didn't get a heap of hit but whenever Rosas touched the ball it turned into something impactful, continues to be a nice pickup.

Norths pressure was very good but its a credit to us that we neatened up with our disposal and absorbed it well after looking far too rushed and jittery early on.

Unless you think the Swans coaches box all have bigfooty accounts and are logged in posting "take the 4 points and move onto next week", I don't think a laissez faire attitude towards poor performance is the reason for our grand final record.

Doesn't help that our mids are losing clearances. Nothing to do with the defenders that we are conceeding more inside 50's than we are generating.

I do because especially under Longmire it kept happening. The amount of times we got around 30 or 40 points up and took our foot off the oppositions neck was way too high and showed a lack of killer instinct in the Swans team as a whole.

I always ask myself "Is that what Geelong in 2007 would have done" and the answer is always no. They were ruthless, they didn't just want to win by 30 points, they wanted to win by 100 points every single game.

I think there’s a lot of criticism of a few players today which tbh may or may not be justified

I’m blaming th game plan.

We have made the decision that we are going to play on at all costs through the corridor.

But the expression at all costs is relevant. We are charging forward with the forward handball - but here’s the thing - if we miss the player we are out of position all over the place with defenders in bad spots compared to their opponents and th ball in the centre corridor.

This is compounded by an ongoing weakness with centre clearances - th ball is coming out the front of the centre and we are looking vulnerable in there

I thought last week Bice and Cootee had to go. Good to give Cootee a few weeks exposure but not ready yet. Corey is ahead, maybe Dattoli but he has looked slow in the Twos.
Thought Edwards was shaky last week but he was really good today.
