Took out the number 1 seed of the tournament who also happens to be the current world number 1.

Which shows how pissweak the world rankings really are. We learned this many years ago when Serena hadn't played in many months, rocked up to the Australian Open and won despite not being near the top of the rankings at the time.

Great match and great level by both.

Pliskova has thrashed Serena before (us open 2016). But last year, she got thrashed. Remember she said that she wasn't right in the head that match (Pliskova that is).

Pliskova hasn't lost a game this summer, so hopefully so can bring her best and stay at her best. Be another tough test for the queen
