I feel for O'Brien he honestly deserves a game, He's been playing well in the SANFL but Sauce knows if he says he's hurt he'll miss more than one game and O'brien might shine.

Do you think Mackay is going to be the difference? Do you think ROB is going to be so bad that it changes the game if he plays and Sauce rests?Better to make a statement than win a crucial game.

If Sauce doesnt rest then winning crucial games may be the last thing that matters

Its not a new problem eitherOur vision rarely extends beyond the weekend
I am sure I listened to an Interview with Eddie. He was somewhat helpless in what he could do on Sunday. When we're getting beaten at the start of a game, would the senior players be thinking:
****! This could be my career on the line here. Better absolutely bust my arse to help us get back in this. Would rather lose my right arm than lose my spot.
Or are they thinking:
Gee! This isn't like us. Not our day. Happens sometimes I guess. Event not a trend. We'll do better next time.
You can only laugh and shake your head at this point![]()
Honestly, don't think O'Brien could do any worse than what Sauce put up last week and doubt we'll really know what O'Brien is capable of until we give him a few games in a row at AFL level. Might as well see if he's worth persisting with or delist material.I feel for O'Brien he honestly deserves a game, He's been playing well in the SANFL but Sauce knows if he says he's hurt he'll miss more than one game and O'brien might shine.
You darn well know he's named on the bench most times. If there's a young player to drop, Mackay must survive. They really are a joke. Was he named in the field?
Look, my problem isn't that we dropped Gallucci and Poholke specifically. Poholke definitely deserved to go, Gallucci line ball.
But when you just drop young players these selections say "the fault for the loss is on the young blokes". When realistically it actually wasn't the young blokes that were abysmal, but senior players like Mackay, Jacobs, Lynch, etc.
Hampton could probably play Mackay's role? Or Atkins can play whatever role Mackay plays. The problem remains that other than perhaps O’Brien for Jacobs we have no ready replacements for Mackay, Lynch or any of the other handful of shit performers. Our SANFL side is being smashed every week and no one there is knocking the door down for AFL selection. Do you reward shit SANFL performance to punish shit AFL performance?
And this is a big issue. Our vision rarely extends beyond the weekend
My question is would we lose much playing the Gooch ahead of either Gibson or Mackay... given the Gooch has a far bigger upside?IN – Seedsman, Murphy
OUT – Gallucci, Poholke
Massive loss. Two of the youngest, most inexperienced players get the chop. Couldn't make this shit up.
Gibson I can see, we need midfield depth, but Mackay...... I'm not sure what he brings with Seeds back in.My question is would we lose much playing the Gooch ahead of either Gibson or Mackay... given the Gooch has a far bigger upside?
Gooch may get less of the ball until he develops, but both Gibson & Mackay have little hurt factor with their possessions & imo it's a mistake to have both in our team.Gibson I can see, we need midfield depth, but Mackay...... I'm not sure what he brings with Seeds back in.
What would Galluci look like off half back? The problem remains that other than perhaps O’Brien for Jacobs we have no ready replacements for Mackay, Lynch or any of the other handful of shit performers. If we had a fully fit list then players like CEY, Fogarty, Mackay, Murphy, Atkins, Milera, Hartigan etc etc are all much more likely to be playing SANFL which gives us options.
That said I would’ve liked to see Jacobs omitted/rested. He’s some combination of too old, drastically dropped off in form and/or his back is really bad. Either way O’Brien could do the job he’s currently doing.
Just on Gallucci and Poholke - they are playing that high half forward role which is difficult to get into the game in.And this is a big issue.
Unfortunately only 2 reserves players put their hands up last week which gave our selectors the perfect out to lessen the blow on a diabolical effort by the senior players.
We've dropped 2 kids, now you could argue they deserved it, but then so did the majority of the senior players.
Surely on years work, ROB and Wilson deserve a crack, Hampton too probably

I would have dropped a 3rd but also dropped those 2 . The 3rd would have been either Sauce or Mackay . Prob Sauce
And given gooch has a much bigger potential future with the club..My question is would we lose much playing the Gooch ahead of either Gibson or Mackay... given the Gooch has a far bigger upside?
