Reckon McKay is still a good chance, the best defender has been going to him but sooner or later it'll change.

I'd probably tip the finish being 1. Lynch 2. McKay 3. Cameron

Well Lynch still has North x2, Port x2, Bombers x2, West Coast again and Gold Coast. So yeah, easier than Cameron. Good luck beating him in this form.
North x 1.
Port is no easy best. Shouldn't be even mentioned. We play Port in AO soon I wouldn't be so confident.

Very interesting this year. Normally there are 3-4 you think can win it. So wide open this year.
Those with 20 plus..
Lynch 27
Curnow 25
Cameron 24
Wright 23
Hawkins 23
King 21
Mackay 20

Franklin still a chance. Naughton.
Great to have so many in the hunt.

So hard to pick. Thoughts on the winner?
If Curnow stays fit Id say hes a lock.

I'm expecting it to be between Lynch & McKay come the end of the year. Even with Curnow there regularly so far, McKay still has 20 and I feel like his form can improve.
I'm surprised Charlie has managed to get ahead of Harry.
Thought he would take longer to find his feel for footy again after not playing for so long.
I still expect Harry to overtake him at some point.

It's wide open. Great to see.

While I'm not expecting Harry or Charlie to win it this year, I'm curious if a team has ever won back to back Colemans with different players?
Had a look back in history and had to go back to 1899 to 1901 for a period it happened.
It actually happened twice within that era but at no other time in history.
Obviously Coleman was not born then so the medal itself was not a thing back then in terms of a name for it.

My money would be on Hawkins but Lynch does have a good draw against some of the lower teams.

No love for Hawkins? Barring injury (and suspension), he traditionally has a better 2H than 1H, so expect him to ramp up and win his 2nd Coleman. He is like a bottled of quality red wine - keeps getting better with age

He will win the goals + assists ‘Coleman’ in a canter but his unselfishness with Cameron in the team as an ever present option might make it tough.

Would love to see him win another one in a full season though

I think what hurts Cameron and Hawkins is they steal goals off each other. Same is happening at the moment for McKay with Curnow. At the moment Riewoldts poor form mean Lynch is the focal point at Richmond, so he is my favourite to take it. And I think white 2m Peter will kick a lot of goals, his issue is he plays for a very poor team.

Normally yes, but Lynch is in really good form atm and you don’t really need to be that good to kick a bag of at least 7 in most of those games. He also doesn’t have another key forward stealing his goals like Hawkins (Riewoldt isn’t as good). We’ll just have to wait and see.

Riewoldt broke his hand early rd 1 this season and was hampered.

Since returning in rd 4, 12 goals in 5 games at an average goals per game that would put him 14th overall for the season, and his score involvements in those 5 games would rank him about 20th for specialist forwards. Last season he had 51 goals + 17 goals assists - so 68 goals + goal assists - from 22 matches. Coleman Medallist McKay had 64 goals + goal assists from 19 matches. Overall, Riewoldt wasn’t too far below Hawkins and McKay in 2021 and they were the All Australia key forwards.

Whilst there are plenty of other forwards around going a bit better than Riewoldt at the moment any suggestion Lynch will kick more goals because Jack is not playing well are very wide of the mark based on the available evidence.

I think Jeremy Cameron, he regularly pops up with games of 4 or 5, and will consistently kick the 2s and 3s when he doesn't.

Tom Lynch can have colossal games as he has the last couple of weeks, but the gap to his worst is also huge and he can have absolute stinkers where he has concrete hands and our inside 50 delivery can be shit, his kicking for goal can also be really suspect. He's not going to get 10+ shots on goal every week to make up for it.

Curnow and Wright I think will regress a little, and should kick 50+ but don't think they'll be there at the absolute pointy end.

King has dodgy kicking, but he is advantaged by playing at the fast, indoor track at Marvel which is conducive to high scoring.

I wouldn't discount Harry McKay either if he can find a bit of form. 7 goals behind isn't a lot with 14 games to go in the season.
