I wanted us to go 17-0 after that that point then sweep finals and win the grand final.

I have so little faith in the decision makers at this club to make the sensible decisions about Hinkley, it's almost pointless to keep wanting to lose rather than win. It won't do anything but damage the players and damage the supporters and the image. Kenny keeps on keeping on regardless. But the noise is so loud now, that you have to think that surely, surely, this is the last contract without a grand final. It has to be. It's never been louder, Port people have never been more vocal or fractured, and at least some media have cottoned on to finals underperformance.

Trouble is, Koch stated at the AGM that 2023 was a successful season - based purely on the infamous 13 in a row. If he manages to survive this season, what happens next year if we have another long minor round winning streak?

The Ken Vs Choco debate is such a weird one. People are acting like Mark Williams is the only 1x premiership coach to underachieve within his window.

-Kevin Sheedy's 2000 Bombers team gets talked up all the time as the greatest ever but they didn't win it in 1999 or 2001 with basically an equal quality list.
-The dogs in 2016 is an obvious one. Bont only got better with time yet the entire team is still yet to finish top 4 after the minor round in nearly a decade of Bevo being in charge.
-John Longmire has got them to 4 grand finals but only 1 victory amongst all of them. Even while improving their list gradually with each of the last 3 losing performances.
-Adam Simpson won it without their best ruck or AA midfielder and yet even after getting them back for the next 2 finals series they still regressed.

Are any of these coaches failures? No, and neither is Mark Williams. A premiership is a premiership.

Not to mention that all of those coaches have also finished bottom 6 at least once, while Ken Hinkley and the rest of the current regime have tried to avoid low ladder finishes like the plague out of a stupidly overblown fear of a couple of bad years at football park.

Choco is tainted by the refusal of the V/AFL to investigate Dank 1.0, with the sudden outbreak of enlarged foreheads and male pattern baldness. That flag shouldn't be on the books, yet instead it remains haunting Choco (/Port) to this day.

It's all part of Kens game. He and Koch all underrate us in the media and talk about scary finals are and how we are a small little battler club. They're constantly lowering expectations externally. Try doing that at Collingwood.

The true measure of any great football club is how loudly the supporters can demand the sacking of its coach.

Nothing spells SUCCESS like giving the arse to the coach to consistently takes his team to the top 4, but can't take the next step because he is so iNcOmPeTEnt.

There will eventually come a day when Port slides down the ladder and is anchored down near the bottom like my own club right now... and all you blokes who are currently calling for Kenny's head will be wondering why you couldn't enjoy the footy when your team was good.
