Free Agency Brad Crouch [joins St Kilda as a RFA for pick 23]

For a team who need inside mids, I'd have been paying Brad $750k rather than $900k for Williams when you have Walsh who looks a good outside mid, SPP, Newman, Martin, Fisher, OBrien and Philp.

Kemp will be a good inside mid, Cripps and Setterfield, but some more depth there made more sense to be. Maybe they go with Graham from Richmond, but would need to offer a decent contract to get him across.

Williams fits our need for leg speed. Crouch wont help us from getting killed on the spread and would only exacerbate our issues. Hard pass.

You should see some of the finals he's played...probably irrelevant for you though ;)
in fact last year leading into the final round of the season last year he was sitting inside the top 20 players in the comp as voted for by the coaches (he played the full year and showed what he can do)

This makes sense. Would the crows match a 5 year contract on 650k
It seems like the whole point is to let Brad test the market to see what he can get. Then once the crows know the market they can put their best foot forward OR decide the market is paying more than they feel is what they can afford and then take the band 1 compo. If the market dictates the money is less then they might choose to match and retain - Brad wants to stay in Adelaide OR it could work a trade. The club is very much holding its powder dry

This. Anyone who posts on this thread should have to reply to this comment, sums it up perfectly. He's not being pushed out of the club and doesn't want to jump ship. Both parties are being respectful of each others positions and will sit down and work through the best option for both when all the information is available over the next fortnight.

why are crows supporters so delusional to think if they cant get pick 2 they will either match and keep him or trade. Trade maybe but no way he stays now

All comes down to what Brad wants and how it affects FA compo, You would think Adelaide would be comfortable around $700K as they are currently paying him $550K he will get an increase with who ever he plays with

I don't know how else to interpret the outcome of the exit meeting as per the previous post I replied to. He wants to stay in Adelaide, won't look at a shorter term offer, crows at this stage have not made him and offer and are waiting for him to receive any offers out there
