Darcy Fogarty is the medical sub
Hate to see an injury anytime obviously but it would suck if we copped one very late and Fog misses tomorrow's game as a result and gets bugger all time in this one.

In that instance let's hope he takes 15-20 minutes to get on the ground

I’m no Mackay fan but I think their justification will be that with Lynch out they needed to bring in experience/leadership

Not agreeing, just sayin

If he ever showed any the selection would make sense

Our young & inexperienced defense & midfield have been our problem all year and have to play well and limit the amount of turnovers and mistakes.

The club has said it may not choose to activate it even if there’s an injury
Seems strange

It's there to be used. Picking a young player who you want to get a full game into so you shy away from activating him...

Our refusal to use Mackay there makes less sense by the week

And that's where the SANFL rule harms us.

Take Richmond last night, Cotchin comes off with 4 minutes to go, their sub comes on and can play today.

Fog couldn't if the same occurs. Better off leaving him on the pine.

Depends when the injury happens and the situation in the game I guess

5 or more goals down in the last and there's probably no point. Leave him to play tomorrow.

Ridiculous that we choose to make it a consideration

Just a complicating factor we don't encounter if Mackay is sub

A self inflicted problem

It's clear we like Fog and want him around the AFL side.

But yes making DMac sub makes sense.

Knicks is persisting with that stupid rationale from the other week over not having the sub warmed up and ready to go, I see. Seems blatantly obvious to me that a fresh set of legs injected at any stage of the game can be of benefit, and 17 other senior coaches would seem to agree with me.

If the game isn't close, we would be better off not activating the sub late in the game so he can play sanfl.
