Hampton will never make finals in div 2 unless some key issues are addressed, in my opinion

I see Elvis is back at Oakleigh. Will he be the difference that finally wins them a Div 2 flag?

Tips for this weekend
Caufield vs Highett. Velardo to kick a bag, no player talented enough to go with him
Hampton vs Doveton. Too strong on every line for the thugs
Murrembeena vs Springvale. Beena too young, not enough heart
Mordialloc vs Oakleigh. After last weeks game will be breathing fire, god help the districs
Skye vs Moorabbin. Hopefully the rain comes and they bash each other senseless

we're all looking forward to bashing you blokes senseless in rnd 10

Extremely sad to see at yesterday's Sky v Oakleigh game the Sky crowd behaving the way they did. People that had obviously had a few drinks actually targeting certain players the worst language at any suburban game I have ever been too, plus the racist comments to certain Oakleigh players by the crowd. Sky supporters, officials and reserves players getting stuck into the Oakleigh players as they were coming off the ground at half and full time with personal comments that ladies and especially kids shouldn't have to hear, that's not part of the game that's just disgusting.

On a positive note there was some Sky supporters, officials ( Sky umpire escort ) and the senior coach who were trying to get the trouble makers to settle down. It looks like Sky has a extremely talented list that should go very close to winning the Div 2 flag which is great, hopefully the poor behaviour stamps itself out in the future.

Caufield vs Springvale 1 point. caufield improving
Doveton vs Murrembeena 5 points. doveton starting to find the tempo of div 2
Oakliegh vs Highett 4 goals. fermarnis to kick a bag, will be a fiery match
Moorabbin vs Hampton 100 points. morrabbin looking forward to div3 in 2015 already
Skye vs Mordialloc 6 goals. mordi will spank skye and reclaim their spot at the top of the ladder

Caufield vs Springvale. 3 goals - Caulfield are improving but springy will get the job done
Doveton vs Murrembeena. 7 points - they will out run the eagles in the last quarter
Oakleigh vs Highett. 4 goals - they have some making up to do after last games loss
Moorabbin vs Hampton. - by a lot
Skye vs Mordialloc. 1 point - Im gonna say skye with the home ground advantage

Don't worry champ you boys won't be too far behind. All the "recruiting" you've done and you still won't be around in September.

anyone with inside knowledge down at Hampton? word going around is a few blokes from the 19's are getting paid? surely that must be a joke and there must be a few little kids running there mouths off talking garbage...if it was true surely that money would be better used in the senior side than paying blokes in the 19's that are well below standard.

I think our 19s ladder position says different.
We have had to work very hard to get our 19s program up and running. We compete with so many other clubs in our area its amazing that we have gotten this far. It wasn't long ago that we had to share an u19 team with cross town rivals highett.
We take our hats off to Skye who manage to get great numbers (heard a rumor they were looking at 2 teams again in 2014) week in week out whilst competing with the likes of seaford, pines, frankston ycw, frankston bombers, Langwarrin, Chelsea, edi asp, Bonbeach, CPL, Chelsea heights, Dandenong, Cranbourne probably a few more. We all know the kids are the future of the club and we are really trying to promote from within.... especially knowing we couldn't keep up with spending $$$ getting mercenary's in year after year like mordi springy and the oaks

tips for rnd 12
Hampton vs Mordialloc 12 points. Hammers are well prepared. Upset of the round
Caufield vs Moorabbin 40 points. Caufield to do it pretty easily
Murrembeena vs Skye 8 points. Another upset, beena boys due for a win. Skye been up for too long
Doveton vs Oakliegh 25 points. Tough gig playing out at power reserve. Districs aren't tough enough
Springvale vs Highett 10 points. Springy to bounce back after average display last week. Dogs aren't much

All home teams to win this week. With 7 rounds to go its going to be a sprint to the finish. I'll predict

Mordi

Skye
Hammers

Caufield
Springvale

Oaks, Highett and Beena to miss by a bees d....

not too sure where you get your info on mordi being a mercenary club..

I think you will find that Skye only compete with Pines, Seaford and CPL when attracting kids from the area.

The Junior Club:Senior club ratio down here is 1:1. Every senior club has its own junior club feeding into them so the need for clubs to actually go elswhere to find kids is not that strong.

Completely different story in the inner suburbs where senior clubs need to fight off 1-2-3 other senior clubs for the juniors of a single junior club.

For someone who played in remote country Victoria & also in the lower grades of the VAFA, I find this rather amusing. Surely you're taking the piss?

Haha yeah well for this league travel wise.

Yeah travelling 2 hours to play in the country was great, the bus trip home anyway
