Tom Brady is an underdog for first time since 2014

The Patriots were favored in every game this season and postseason. They were favored in every game in 2017, regular season and postseason. They were favored in every game in 2016 except two games during Tom Brady‘s Deflategate suspension. And they were never an underdog in 2015. But they’re not favored now.

New England is a 3-point underdog at Kansas City on Sunday in the AFC Championship Game, and that makes this the first time since 2014 that Tom Brady has played a game in which he was the underdog

The last time was November 30, 2014, when the Patriots visited Lambeau Field and were 3-point underdogs against the Packers. The Patriots lost that game, 26-21.

Now Brady is an underdog again, finding himself in an unfamiliar position of most people expecting him to lose, even if he convinces himself he’s in that position all the time.

What was he in 2007, 2010 & 2014-2017???

Too late, you've fallen into LA's web. He loves juicy Pat fans. :p

It's not like one season changes who's the best QB. Everyone drifts in and out of form

If he were still on a good team he would still be performing the same way

So you would still have Brady #2 then?

From like 2006-2015/16 yes (yes i know he won an MVP in 2017)

But everyone drifts in and out of form... ;)

Surely if you use the same excuse for Rodgers you've got to give it to Brady too.

Dunno mate, Rodgers hasn't been the Rodgers you know for a couple of years now. Much like you're describing Brady.
In what way?

Rodgers can still do the things he can do at his very best. Got to remember he's been injured for 2 years and in an offense that requires more of him than Brady's does of him.

It's not about numbers and awards but looking at it in a vacuum.

There's several QBs that could have exectued the game plan to Brady's level against the Chargers. But Brady wouldn't necessarily do as well as they would in theirs.

Belichick/McDaniels/etc. (Brady's gameplanning mind included) are masters and will prolong Brady's career probably 5 years more than it would go elsewhere

Im not saying Tom should be #1 or even #2 for that matter, im saying if you're affording Rodgers excuses then perhaps Brady deserves them also. His receiving corp and "weapons" have been utter garbage this year.

And yet we still kick your ass when it matters

Yeah but every game matters. Bit of a false dichotomy you've created there. I mean beating the Patriots in a set of high profile games might give you a good level of satisfaction but it certainly doesn't compare to nearly 20 years of sustained dominance, especially when the Broncos have won as many games in the last two seasons as the Patriots did this year with probably their weakest team in years.

At the end of the day, Patriots fans have gained a lifetime worth of joy and then some from this run and you continually hammering on the same beats in every single thread, year after year just makes you seem sad and petty.

I do. He's still top 5 or 6. I might have him equal or ahead of Brees because Brees is probably in an easier situation (and one reason why Brees' season isn't comparably to Mahomes')

Remember, just because he doesn't have an truly elite receiver doesn't mean they aren't open when he's throwing to them. They got what works for them, slots receivers and backs who can make plays. It allows them to prolong Brady

I go for the Broncos mate, not the Raiders haha. I'm plenty happy

Maybe 2006-2014. By 2015 Wilson was possibly ahead of Brady.

Is this the same Rodgers with a 5-26 record since 2012 on the road against winning teams?

Wilson better than Brady? Are you taking the same drugs as Adam Gase?

Getting back to the game, Pats record on the road this year as been garbage, can't see KC losing this. It would take an epic Andy Reid playoff performance to do the Chiefs in.

The -3 line for Chiefs is chicken feed.
