Separate. Happened on draft day so we could select Billy Dowling. Rest of the relevant parts of the trade is Gold Coast and us swapping our 2nd and a pair of 3rds we had both accumulated (so we're also death riding Geelong).

OK, so we have our 1st, as well as North's 2nd and GCSs 2nd, but not our 2nd. Then a full hand of 2024 draft picks that we are likely to be very trade happy with due to Welsh.

Have said all the way along that I doubt any sporting team will be successful in Gold Coast.
Tasmania should have got a team instead.

I hope we're getting in Hollands' ear. We'd have to be a great chance of getting him to come across.
Agree, not enough pressure to perform. Dew has been there five years without finals and got an extension.
Not sure we want him at the price we would have to pay but they overpaid for Lukosius because they felt they had to keep him for the sake of culture. I think they will be trying to offload in the next few years.

Hollands though..imagine if we really come on this year,might be very attractive place to move to to play with the club he grew up following

They have a near-Brownlow winning experienced starting midfielder (Miller), surrounded by Matt Rowell, Noah Anderson, David Swallow, Lachie Weller, Elijah Hollands and Sam Flanders
For those playing at home that's a midfield built on pick 1, 1, 2, 7, 11 and 13 PLUS Miller. That's a stack of elite picks and players that should be very good.
Up forward they've got a gun key (Ben King) and a couple of other decent players like Chol, Lukosius (pick 2) and Ainsworth (pick 4). They just added Bailey Humphrey as well (pick 6)
Down back they have three very good players in Collins, Ballard and Powell.
And their role players aren't half bad either. Guys like Ben Long (just brought in), Joel Jeffrey, and Alex Davies have all showed signs. They've also got Mac Andrew waiting in the wings, another top pick (pick 5)
How the flying * is this team still terrible. They are at least a couple of years further into their rebuild than us and don't look like making finals any time soon

Gotta make sure he's actually good before giving up much for him. Junior talent he looked great buuuut......... haven't seen much as yet

Maybe its as simple as there is not the pressure to perform up there as there is at the traditional clubs due to the lack of an established supporter base. Because you are right, they should really be hitting their stride now
