Is this the dullest Trade period in recent times?

Don't think they'll move Oliver, but I am amazed there hasn't been more talk about a big move for a key forward.

They're in the window now and would just about be flag favourites heading into next season with a competent tall target in the forward 50.

Paying big for Tom Lynch makes perfect sense for them, as it does the Tigers to accept a big offer should one come his way.

A 31 year old moving clubs wouldn’t really shake the afl to the core

Dees would be nuts not to try this.
They're stacked with picks, Tiges need picks.

Yes. Melbourne are very well placed here with 3 x 1st round picks to play with.

Richmond on the other hand has a 1st next year but don't enter this year's draft until 26, which is almost certain to be pushed out beyond 30.

Tigers fans may say it doesn't make sense given what they did last trade period, but I'd say those moves didn't make sense. One in particular looks horrific at this stage, but they can rectify the situation somewhat.

Lynch has done great things at Richmond but they're not winning another flag any time soon. With a new head coach they may well see this as a great opportunity to get some good picks in to start afresh.

He'd easily be the biggest name to move over the off-season. And let's not pretend SEN don't sensationalise things, for all we know they may be referring to James Harmes moving on.

It's gonna be brutal listening/reading this trade period. The only half decent player moving, McKay, doesn't even require a trade. Once his compo is decided, there is absolutely zero of interest with anything, for anyone. Just some mind numbing haggling over some semi-usable lateish picks for some semi-useable players.

But hey, we'll be up for it. Anything to sap the boredom of comfortable suburban life.

Let's see which footy clickbait journo can beat todays Fox headline of "Bomber young Gun requests move"....yep, that's Massimo btw. Hutchy will be handing out the instruction manual to all employees at SEN and Trade Radio this year.

Rule No1: No amount of turd polishing will go unrewarded.

2021 was probably worse as that had just Cerra and Dawson as players of interest who were looking at moving, and the first one was sorted pretty quickly. And unlike this year there weren’t a heap of fringe players moving either.

SEN mentioned Dees are working on something that would shake the AFL to the core whatever that meant.

Only thing the board could think of is we put Oliver on the trade table. He has that suspicious 12 week hammy and Dees midfield functioned more cohesively when he was out.
Could happen, might need the collateral for a lunge at pick 1

As an Ess supporter there’s quite a lot going on as they have a bunch of money to spend and have decided to do so.

In general Last year was especially busy so I wouldn’t expect anything like that but there’s still a lot to shake out. It only really takes one team to knock over the dominoes for things to get exciting.

Cats, Dees, Tigers and Suns look like they’re ready to make significant changes

Cats waiting on next offseason when a bunch of blokes retire and we’ll have a * load of money and game time to offer.

All about to hang it up. I’d imagine next year is when most of the changes come.

Lynch to dees no brainer for both clubs.
Oliver out for a deal for Reid makes sense. Swans would seem a good landing spot or crows. 3-4 way mega trade.

Not sure it's a "no brainer" for either club.

Would Melbourne want to pay up big for a 31 yo who's missed most of the season through injury?

Would Richmond sell Lynch at one of his lowest points, and give up their main KPF?

I can understand the argument but I wouldn't say it's necessarily an obvious deal......

What are the 3 x 1st round picks the the Dees have? l can only see two....#5 and about #15...Their next is about #25?

The answer to both of these questions should be yes.

2 x this year
1 x next year

Correct and also because next years free agency pool is way better than this years.
We will be quiet this off season but will go very hard next year when we will have a lot of retirements and a stack of cash.

In general this years trade period will be quiet across the board bc next years draft is very good and most teams wont want to trade 2024 picks.

With this lineup? Definitely not. This might be the peak of civilisation.

7am - The Early Trade: Kane Cornes and Brad Johnson
9am - Trade Mornings: Cam Luke and Adam Cooney
11am - Trade Exchange: Sarah Olle and Josh Gabelich
12pm - Gettable on Trade Radio: Riley Beveridge and Cal Twomey
1pm - Trade Feed: Sam Edmund and Tom Morris
3pm - The Late Trade: Damian Barrett, Phil Davis and Josh Jenkins

If you think that is even a remote possibility then you don't live in reality.

It's also SEN, pure s**t.
