To be fair in this case i think hes being honest-geelong have been chasing him for a while. Not really his fault gc put 7 on the table is it.
I'm pretty sure that the quote has been attributed to the wrong person there.
If GC want to pay the majority of his salary still, I'm sure they would take him without P7.

Yeah that was Dodoro - this was what Mackie said:

"furiously bashing away", replace Mackie with Dodoro. This wasn't a Geelong hit, this was a hit at the quote. I got who said it wrong but its still funny all the same that someone would say that.Why would we worry? We either keep a former Brownlow medallist or get what we want for him, hardly a bad problem to have.

Lol the media really are desperate for Geelong to get this one eh. Why is Ablett talking about Bowes worth an article? Intel? He played with him for one year 5 years ago then ****ed off home leaving the Suns in the lurch.
Any article on Scrimshaw, who he was drafted with? No. Because neither tenuous link is news.
Then there is this from Cal Twomey:
"Brad Scott met with Bowes in his first official day as Essendon coach and he has also met with Hawks coach Sam Mitchell and Geelong's contingent, with the Cats' strong interest in him as a player."
Why the throw away line at the end Cal? As if Essendon, Hawthorn and North are not interested in him as a player?!
Cats seem to be really pushing this "we were into him before pick 7 was a thing and nobody else was" line, its weird.

No offence, but I don't believe there is any concentrate evidence of the media pushing Bowes to Geelong, the latest reports suggest he will nominate the club that rate him and his playing ability more than the pick 7 'sweetner' and apparently Geelong and Chris Scott have done a good job convincing him he will have a place in their best 22.
