All debuts are usually announced so l cant see him getting a call up yet. Most likely against the Eagles..

When 26 players are named, and Dawson ain't one of them, despite his decent VFL performances and our need to get better in defence, it pretty much confirms it's over for him.
Agree, although I can't see why he hasn't been tried at AFL level this year. Given the state of our backline with McKay may go, Logues our for most of next year, McDonald, Zieibell, Young, wouldn't Dawson be worth one more year as a back up?

In a way it might be a blessing in disguise that we don't fall bellow West Coast to get the #1 pick because if we get the #1 pick we are kinda obligated to get Reid, and yes he will be a superstar, but we've gone above and beyond drafting the midfield over the last few years while neglecting to address the back line and forward line. We need the cream of the crop but we need to recruit KPs in both posts. Our midfield still has many problems, and we need to address the ruck stocks too, but it is time to rebuild both ends of the ground.
What hurts even more is that Reid, by all accounts so far, is head and shoulders above the likes of Powell (too slow, can't get a spot anyway) and Phillips (physically slow and small, no guaruntee that he'll find consistent form, let alone become elite), who we've used our top of the table picks on in recent years.
