Agreed, but I don't see Steven as a replacement.

The bloke has won 4 B & Fs while getting tagged every week. Kelly will play longer but for the next 2-3 years he is a fine replacement.

My only two provisos are dont trade a R1 for him given his age and do due diligence on the mental health stuff.

Agree with all that.. and at his size and body shape ..its hard to know how many games are left in him but 2-3 would be conservative.. he has been very robust looking at games played...

Having watched a few of the U18 games there are some handy types but from my eye very few are ready to play AFL unlike last year. If we were to get a top 6-10 pick then Flanders would be the kid I’d consider.

Only if we can't find a young kid in the system to replace Taylor and Henderson... But you'd think Henderson has 1-2 years left! He looked okay in the VFL today, but I think he injured his shoulder.

Even Blicavs is 28, but he has the aerobic capacity and seems injury free (touch wood) that he could go playing to 33-36. I mean, he is similar to a Dustin Fletcher type, and the way he plays he protects his body well. As long as we don't play him in the ruck!

I would try and develop one KPD from the draft system at end of the season, and later probably trade or use FA to get a mature type once both Taylor and Henderson are gone.

He is FA ..probably RFA... ..so I guess the club is just looking at it terms of cost V performance.. and would we have a better group of ruck options with Smith off and Jacobs on? 31..not many ruckman are playing like they were 22 at that age.. probably a good chance that he delievers as much a Hmac.
