Prediction Changes: Round 7 Vs West Coast + Pre-match discussion

Regardless of the result next week. We're a really good chance to win 4 or 5 games in the Perth hub and be a sneaky chance to press for the 8.. if we bring that passion to game day every week. In front of our Purple army too!

You watch, club will come out early with news that Young is only a test or something on Monday morning and then on Tuesday Lobb, Serong and Ryan are all TBA.
Why would Serong and Ryan be on there? Or is that just an example?

In recent weeks Logue cox and hogan have all been apparently uninjured after the game then suddenly appeared on the dreaded list on Monday without any warning.
my prediction this week is Walters and Lobb.

In: Cox, Sturt
Out: Young, Banfield

The only two changes needed
So Sean Dacry isnt a definite out? I thought he would be with any concussion issue.
Id go the same as you, but if Sean's out id bring in Meek. He has got great game reviews in the last two scratch matches.

We don't know how severe yet

Duman played arguably his best game but you want him dropped?

Young and Logue clearly injured but will play next week?
Duman would be the match-up to play on either Alec Waterman or Oscar Allen. He did great playing on talls today including the resting ruckman in Marshal at times. Meek has gotten great reviews in his last two games. I think a fit Meek is a good option. It is rare for any head knock to not warrant a week to recover even for purely precautionary measures.

Darcy seems to have a habit of being on the way to ICU then making a miraculous recovery.

Don't think so. Player with game ending concussions are 97% to be rested for a week.

97%.. such a specific number..

I’m concerned with Walters. Limped the game out after that lower leg collision. I’d rather we rest him for a week or two than see that progressively get worse over the season.

Sounds like Chris Mayne for the first 5-6 years of his career. He’d go down like he was shot, writhe around in agony, get half carried off by trainers with his heading bobbling about, then be up and running back on the ground 5 minutes later.

Any changes would depend on who’s available back from injury. Bit tough on any of the 20 who played out the game if anyone’s dropped. But if Logue and Cox were both available, could a case be made for keeping them out? A bit of a reshuffle down back with Young out, but would both come in? Meek to debut against Naitanui if Darcy doesn’t get up? Does Banfield go out for Sturt?

I would feel a lot more confident if Logue was available. And Sturt for Banfield.

🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

I know Banfield kicked a great goal yesterday but if Sturt is fit he has to replace him. Banfield kicking and ball use is still very shaky and Sturt has looked really classy in his games so far, and we will need that class v west Coast. Watch the last 2 min again - Banfield has a horrendous kick to turn over possession when we had the ball with a minute left. If the saints had rebounded and scored off that turnover there would have been some melts on here about Banfield.

Run with role in the centre is his best position, but tries his guts out in no mans land.
Defensive forward is a specialist role, and you have to nail any opportunity available.

Trying to pick a side for this weeks game is hopeless.

By my reckoning the following players have injury clouds : Darcy, Lobb, Fyfe, Cox and Sturt. Young will be an out and probably Logue will be again too.

All of the first 5 could play but then again they could all miss as well

For Meek to debut against NotACluey would be a bit rough - the guy is a thug and if he was losing would just "take him out "

I seem to remember some guys getting concussed and playing off an eight day break. It may just happen, who knows.
Bailey Smith is seemingly set to do it today
