Would love him at the Hawks but with Lobb out they will probably keep him. Hope we have another crack at the end of 23They haven't made it up
Its a possibility of happening

With coaches exploiting the medi sub, plenty of talk to just make it 5 on the bench. This is quite literally the first I've heard of it. When and where did this rumour start?

Coaches always want more interchange options, and they always get it.Not sure they don't just enforce the automatic week off.
Big sads for Meek because he hates just being the depth ruck in the AFL. Won the B&F for PeelIf Freo don't budge we'll walk away. Zero chance we use a second rounder on a fringe ruck.
Will rookie somebody from the state leagues and have another go at Meek next season when his contract is up.
Based on the comparison between Frampton and Meek, Hawks should be offering a future 4th and nothing more:

Supposedly F3 has been offered and it is already a fair (if not more than fair) deal. That is a pick likely in the late 30's (or around 40) in a strong draft for a non-best 22 ruck. A pick in the early 20's (i.e. F2) would be massively overs.
As been previously noted, the seller determines the value, not the buyer. Freo don't really want to move him imo.Supposedly F3 has been offered and it is already a fair (if not more than fair) deal. Well, you'd best call the Hawthorn recruiting team and tell them!

Its true, but they likely lose him at the end of 2023 when his contract is up, and they will have far less bargaining power - particularly as Meek is likely to be 3rd string ruck after Darcy and Jackson, and unlikely to play much AFL.As been previously noted, the seller determines the value, not the buyer. Collingwood's 2023 3rd rounder is likely to be pick 50-54 (assuming they hit top 4 again)
Hawks 2023 4th rounder is likely to be pick 55-58 (assuming we are going to be bottom 4)
Freo won't take a F3. He's contracted and he's a good ruck, the only reason he couldn't get a game is because Darcy and Lobb are in the team. Any team that doesn't have that caliber of player in their best 22 and he gets gametime.Supposedly F3 has been offered and it is already a fair (if not more than fair) deal. Exactly - if Hawks have offered our F3, which will be in the region of 37-40 that is more than fair for Meek.More focused on where that F3 is going to sit TBH, thats the picks thats in play.
"You better take our future 3rd or next year he might get traded for a future 3rd" is what I'm hearing. Its true, but they likely lose him at the end of 2023 when his contract is up, and they will have far less bargaining power - particularly as Meek is likely to be 3rd string ruck after Darcy and Jackson, and unlikely to play much AFL.
Might want to give him some games in 2023 thenAs been previously noted, the seller determines the value, not the buyer. Freo don't really want to move him imo.
In your mind maybe. Doesn't make it fact.
Alternatively, if Hawks finish in the bottom few places we could potentially push Meek to the pre-season draft and get him for nothing"You better take our future 3rd or next year he might get traded for a future 3rd" is what I'm hearing.
Compare to any similar scenario - of which there have literally been hundreds over the last 5-10 years given the amount of ruck depth trades that occur every season.
Can you name any other non best 22 ruck that has gone for a top 25 pick? Cos I can list 30 players without a second thought that have gone for less (in basically identical circumstances).
If you finish in the bottom few places and then waste your PSD pick on Meek then go for it. Stupid idea but hey you do you.Alternatively, if Hawks finish in the bottom few places we could potentially push Meek to the pre-season draft and get him for nothing
