Some of Cox's efforts in the last quarter were beyond poor, all he needed was to fly for the ball and let it come to ground so the smalls have a chance but his lack of effort simply let Melbourne take mark after mark and then his chase on players is pedestrian and he lets them walk it out.

Just heard Harley done his calf again at Lathlain Park after kicking the first goal of the match. That surely has to be the last straw. The club needs move on.

All those talking up Cox this week...... thoughts?

Still maintain he has a higher ceiling than Taberner. (Which is what the discussion was iirc) But whether he reaches that ceiling or not depends on hunger, commitment, desire etc. Taberner has worked hard to get where he is. Cox now needs to do the same. Stop the piddly tap-ons and use the bulk. Needs a chat with Jonathon Brown.

Cox in 5 years might be a different thing. But he is a light year from stepping up as the #1 target.

Cox couldn't provide a semblance of forward structure to us once Hogan went down. We need to rethink our talls next week. Logue at an attempt at chf¿ or we rob the midfield.

Darcy is a question mark.

Nyhuis > Wilson
Cerra > Hogan
Banfield > SHill

Mundy to be played forward more to help Cox, who can't be dropped because we need his size and little experience there.

How many 20/21 are number one key forward?

For sure he is going to struggle.

He will be awesome in his fifth season.

Out: Hogan, S Hill, Cox, Bewley
In: Meeks, North, McCarthy, Banfield.

Reward effort, Banfield, North standing up for Peel. Meeks to play tall forward and second ruck, and McCathy because last time he fell into the team he kicked 5.

People seem to be leaving Walters in. There's already a media narrative about his headbutt, and I am certain he will get at least one week.

We'll be going into this game without Lobb, Hogan, Taberner, Walters, Pearce, Hill, Bennell. F*&^$ me.
