Boonta watch: Jordan Clark

Dropping Erasmus was dumb, he offers way more defensive pressure than Fyfe, Aish or Banfield.
Aish better have a blinder this week or the board will go into full meltdown, especially if another opposition winger kicks 3 goals!

Yep exactly

We now have more one way runners

Maybe Erasmus and the team are better served by him having a week or 2 off afl to keep him fresh and not overload him?

I would prefer that, being able to rotate a hard runner/pressure player, to having the side fall away on pressure. I don't think we can sustain it all season.

Caleb Serong is covering huge amounts of ground lately, I'd like to not burn him out.

Syd: 15.8km (most on ground)
Haw: 14.6km (3rd most on ground, 2nd for Freo behind O'Driscoll)
Bris: 13.9km (4th most on ground, 2nd for Freo behind O'Driscoll)
WBD: 15.5km (most on ground)
GCS: 14.5km (2nd most on ground, highest for Freo)
ADE: 14.6km (5th most on ground, 2nd for Freo behind Pearce)

How the * do you drop an inside bull like Ras when you’re coming up against one of the biggest bodied/hardest teams in the competition? Fyfe has been good as a sub - but let’s be honest - he’s only played short minutes.

Ras better be the ******* sub.

Geelong's midfield is missing quite a number of players.

It's a better team than last week

Old Henry >> Young Henry
Stengle > Duncan (not back in the day but Duncan doesn't have as much impact nowadays)
Close >>>> Dempsey
Two are coming in of decent breaks out, they won't be cherry ripe. Close will be fine only missing 1 week.

Duncan was their highest possession getter last week & that was against Richmond's midfield. We should win the middle but it will be a challenge at both ends of the ground.

The real issue is who is taking Erasmus’s wing time? Ploz not Hughes…
Means Aish and O'Driscoll do a full 85% on the wing each, leaving just a small amount for the rest of the mids and half forwards to rotate through.

Given Ras was playing on ball a good 1/3 of the time it also means a greater onball percentage for the onballers playing and less forward time for some of them like O'Merea? (Logic here being that players like Frederick are no long required to rotate onto the wing as much, so their space doesn't need filling)

Cool - we’ll win coz Fyfe still so good. Derpa derpa.
Our mids beat Sydney last week who lost a mid pregame. We've turned it around, the media haven't realised yet but they will soon. Geelong are down at least 3-4 from the GF, it's the one third I think we can bank on, the other two not so much.

Raz vs Blicavs or Fyfe vs Blicavs... Hmm, 🤔

Richmond always give up touches to half backs and that's the role Duncan has been playing mostly
